Buttermilk Falls State Park N.Y.

Hello, my name is Jeff, and this is my camping site. I have camped on and off for many years since in my teens. The park has an upper lake and a creek that flows toward Cayuga Lake in the Finger Lake region. Finger Lakes has many areas someone could take a vacation or weekend getaway. Also, wine Vinyards and wine tasting facilities. Has several playing fields at lower part of the park. Heavily wooded areas with many streams and valleys. Has a natural pool for anyone that would like to take a dip on a hot summer day.                                                                                                                    Many hiking trails to choose from in the area. Have cushion sneakers or boots for long walks and take care of your feet. Some places may not have cell phone connection depending what area you decide to camp. A camera is a must for scenery and there’s plenty to see in this region. Playgrounds in the area and many games for the kids to play.

             Someone could rent or bring an RV or camper. There are cabins and other lodging facilities. Find a good location and pitch a tent. Build a campfire for cooking food. Bring a cooler for food and beverages. Campfire emits light at night so you can see a little distance and smoke from the fire keeps flying insects away. A lantern at night helps a bit if you’re walking around. i bought a solar powered lantern and use it. Plenty of places to fish in the area and an abundance of fish variety. Go fishing on land or boat.                                                                                                                                       Choose a place to have a picnic and there are picnic tables at the park. Insect repellent is good to have in case mosquitos are too heavy where you’re at. Many animals in the area and would be a good idea to not leave food out when your away from camp or at night while people are sleeping. I have been to this area a few times, and someone will have a memorable time. Ithaca N.Y. is nearby and a place someone could visit and has many sights. Could also have a night at the town. Lake Cayuga is a large lake with many activities people can choose from.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 Canoeing, kayaking, or boating on a river or lake are lots of fun. Must wear a life jacket. There are rapids on a river and deep water. Buttermilk Falls has a pavilion that accommodates 70 people at $100 per day. Has a two-day minimum rental. Has a swimming beach for everyone.                                                                                             A maximum of two pets are allowed at campsites and must be kept on a leash and not allowed in areas that are posted. There might be winter activities in the area also.
