Look for a place to set up camp and pitch a tent. Build a campfire and have a cooler with food and beverages. Rent or bring your RV or camper for this camping adventure. Could bring a power generator for the camper or power thing at camp site. Could be cabins and lodging in the area. Bring the correct number of tents for how many people are coming along on the camping adventure. Glimmerglass State Park has a few hiking trails. Hiking anywhere be sure to bring cushion sneakers or boots. For long hikes, bring a backpack with some clothes and maybe some things for minor cuts if needed. A canteen I bring on hikes for cold water to drink. Some areas don’t have cell phone connection available. Review items you brought with you before you leave to go to camp site.
Have a picnic and picnic tables are available. Go for long walks in the woods. Most parks have playgrounds for kids. Lots of games can be played while camping. Corn hole, ring toss and horseshoes are popular games. Tell campfire stories and play any bord game or play cards. Kids can play laser tag and looks like fun. Swim at night and the water feels warmer than daytime swimming. Bring a lantern so you can walk around at night and see pretty good. Flashlights are good to bring along also. At camp the fire emits some light so you can see a little way. Insect repellent for those days or nights that there are mosquitos. Cooperstown, Baseball Hall of fame and Howe Caverns are in the area that people could spend a day at.
There is a beach at the park. Get a beach blanket and relax and get a tan and read a book. Take a dip in the water on hot summer days. Can go canoeing or kayaking and wear a life jacket. Water in a lake is deep and rivers have rapids and strong currents. Can go water skiing where motorboats are allowed. Scuba diving and snorkeling are popular activities. Can go tubing or rafting. Bring your fishing poles and there are many different kinds of fish you can catch and cook on a grill for dinner. Wash your plates in a bucket of soapy water and a second bucket with rinsing water. Many kinds of animals in the woods and you don’t want dirty dish’s attracting hungry animals. Don’t leave food out while away from camp and at night while people are sleeping. These are some of the things people could do on a visit to the park, leave a message if you like and enjoy your camping adventure wherever you decide to camp.
