Camping Moreau Lake State Park
UncategorizedHello! I’m Jeff and this is my camping site. I like to hike and like the outdoors and have camped for years. https://mycampingvacationsites.com Moreau Lake State Park 605 Old Saratoga Rd Gansevoort N.Y. 12831 (518) 793-0511 Take a nice vacation or weekend getaway. Find a good place to choose for a camp site. Pitch a tent and bring a cooler for food and beverages. Build a campfire for those real good tasting meals. There are rv’s and campers someone can rent or bring with you. Log cabins and lodging is available also. Bring a power generator for the camper or the camp site for power usage. Take time before you leave to go camping and review things, you’re bringing with you. There are hiking trails at the park. Some of the trails are designed for hiking, so you have to pick your trails carefully. Cell phone connection might not be available in some areas. A set of walkie talkies is a good replacement. While hiking wear cushion sneakers or boots. Hiking with a group of people is lots of fun. A backpack for long hikes and a little medical supply if someone gets hurt during your hiking adventure.
Moreau Lake State Park is a heavily wooded area. Take a nice stroll in the woods. Choose from many places and have a picnic. Playgrounds are at camps. Kids can play hide and seek. Corn hole, ring toss and horseshoes are popular games. Throw a football around. Play catch with a ball and glove. Volleyball and frisbee are fun game. At night could use a telescope to stargaze or look at constellations. Laser tag could be lots of fun for the kids at night. Tell camping stories and any board game could make camping more fun. There is a beach at the park. You can take a dip in the water on hot summer days. At night swimming is fun also, the water feels warmer at night. Could go scuba diving or snorkeling.
Could bring a canoe or kayak for on the lake or river. A river is lots of fun but has strong currents and rapids. A lake has deep water and must be cautious at times. Wear a life jacket is a smart idea. Could go tubing down the river or rafting. Bring your fishing Poles and fish from the shore or boat. Any fish you catch can bring back to camp and cook over the fire or cook on a grill for dinner. Wash dish’s after in a couple containers. One with soapy water and the other with rinsing water. There are animals in the woods and the smell of food can bring them to your camp if they’re hungry. Whenever away from camp, don’t leave food out and at night when people are sleeping. Depending on where you’re camping. There are bears and coyotes and other animals in some areas. Should be aware of your surroundings while camping. Can walk around at night with a lantern is useful. Campfire does emit some light. Also keeps flying insects away the smoke does from the fire. Has a pavilion overlooking the lake. Pavilions can be reserved on a daily basis. Two pavilions can accommodate each 100-120 people at $100 to $150. A 20×30 tent can accommodate up to 50 people. A maximum of 2 pets are allowed at campsites. Pets are to be on a leash and supervised at all times and not allowed in areas with a sign. Proof of rabies inoculation shall be produced by staff at request.
