Review things to bring with you on your vacation. Locate a place to set up your campsite. Build a campfire and pitch a tent. Have a cooler with food and beverages kept chilled. A rv-camper with a generator for power if there are no electric hook ups available. There are several cabins in the area and some lodging.                                                                                                                                Nolin State Park has a 5,795-acre lake and a 333-acre park are located in the northern edge of Mammoth Cave National Park. There are several trails throughout the park and can backpack for the night and continue the next day. Wearing good cushioned sole boots or sneakers is a good idea for someone’s feet.                                                                                                                                   Mountain bike riding and jogging are fun activities. Cell phone connection may not be available in some areas. A set of walkie talkies is a good substitute. Flying insect repellent to have would be a good idea. Smoke from a campfire helps keep flying insects away from the camp. A camera to take awesome photos to look at later.                                                                                                                                       Lay out and get a suntan on a sandy beach and later take a dip in the water to cool off on hot summer days. At night take a swim and the water feels warmer. Water skiing and wind surfing are a blast. Scuba diving and snorkeling are lots of fun.                                A canoe, kayak, or a boat are fun activities and paddle around a river or lake. Boating on a river has strong currents and rapids and your boat can tip over. Float down a river in an innertube or raft and just relax and flow with the current. A life jacket to wear would be a good idea.                                                                                   Bring your fishing poles and there are several species of fish you can catch. Have a cookout later over the campfire or grill for dinner. A good idea to wash your dishes and use two containers, one with soapy water and the other with rinse water.                                   There are many species of animals in the forest and can smell food from a distance. You don’t want animals wandering into your camp stealing food. Try not to leave food out while your away from camp or at night when people are sleeping.                                                                        Have a picnic and there are picnic tables at the park. There are lots of activities to do at a park. You could play a board game or play cards. Corn hole, ring toss, and horseshoes are popular games. Throw a frisbee or a football around. Play catch with a ball and glove.                                                                                      There are playgrounds at the park for kids to play at. At night kids can play laser tag and hide and seek. Have a telescope to look at the stars and constellations. Groups of people can play volleyball and softball.                                                                                                Pet policy- Dogs are allowed at the park and must be kept on a leash no longer than 6 feet when outside your vehicle. Pets must also be kept up to date on vaccinations and properly cleaned up after.
