Paintsville Lake State Park KY Camping
UncategorizedGreetings! I’m Jeff and this is my camping site. I like to camp and like the outdoors and camp at different locations. https://mycampingvacationsites.com 1551 KY 2275 Staffordsville KY 41256 (606) 297-8486
A nice place to take a vacation. Look for a place to set up a campsite. Build a campfire and pitch a tent. A cooler for food and beverages kept cold. A RV- Camper with a generator in case there are not hook ups available in the area. Has cabins to rent and lodging in the area. Review things to bring with you so you don’t forget anything. At Paintsville Lake State Park there is a full-service marina. There are several small trails and a 7-mile trail. Good boots or sneakers are a good idea to have hiking anywhere. Mountain bike riding, bicycling, and jogging are popular activities. Cell phone connection may not be available at some locations. A set of walkie talkies are a good substitute. Scenic walks on trails with a camera to take awesome photos to look at later. May be a good idea to have insect repellent as there are mosquitoes and other insects. A campfires smoke helps keep flying insects away from the camp. Canoe, kayak is lots of fun on a lake or river. A river has strong currents and rapids that can tip a boat over. Wearing a life jacket is a good idea for safety. Can go scuba diving and snorkeling. Water skiing and wind surfing are popular activities. You can rent houseboats, pontoons, and fishing boats. Bring your fishing poles as there are many species of fish to catch. Fish from a boat or from along the shore. Have a cookout and bring your catch to cook on the campfire or grill for dinner. Wash your dishes in a couple containers, one with soapy water and the other with rinse water. There are many species of animals in the woods that smell food from a distance. Washing the dishes cuts the smell of food and try not to leave food out while away from the camp and at night when people are sleeping. Lay along the shore and get a suntan on hot summer days and take a dip in the water to cool off. Take a swim at night and the water feels warmer. An innertube or raft paddling around in the water and having fun. Lay in a hammock reading a book and relaxing. There is a volleyball net near the entrance of the park for some volleyball games. Take long walks on a path or trail to look a scenery. Have a picnic as there are picnic tables at the park. There are activities such a corn hole, ring toss, and horseshoes. A board game or play cards. Throw around a football or frisbee. Play catch with a ball and glove. There are playgrounds at the park for kids. At night they can play laser tag and hide and seek. A telescope to look at the stars and constellations. skip stones across a river or lake. Pet policy-Dogs must be kept on a leash no longer than 6 feet while outside a vehicle. For more information on pet restrictions please call (606) 297-8486. These are some of the activities and there is much more. Leave a message in the comment section at the bottom. Hello! There is quite a lot of sight see in the camping area. Has a 1,140-acre lake for water activities. Someone could rent houseboats, paddle boats and pontoon boats. Has a full-service Marina. Has 10 great trails in that area. Definite an area for historic things and Civil war heritage. Depending on if you don’t mind the heat, the summer would be a good time of year. Each fall there’s a Poppy Mountain Bluegrass Festival held in Morehead for 20 days each fall and features bluegrass music concerts. There’s hiking and horseback riding opportunities. There’s the Kentucky fair that is an 11-day event. The Kentucky fair takes place at the Kentucky Exposition Center at Louisville Ky. There are over 700 festivals that take place in Kentucky each year.
