Canoe, kayak, are lots of fun and can paddle around the lake anywhere you like. Wear a life jacket for safety reasons. Can go scuba diving and snorkeling. Water skiing and wind sailing are a blast. Bring your fishing poles as there are many species of fish at the lake. Can fish from a boat or from along the shore. Have a cookout after back at the camp and cook fish over the campfire or grill for dinner. Wash your dishes in a couple containers, one with soapy water and the other with rinse water. There are many species of animals in the woods and can smell food from a distance. Washing the dishes cuts the smell to bring them to your camp. Try not to leave food out while away from the campsite or at night when people are sleeping.
Great article, Jeff! Your passion for camping and the outdoors is evident in your writing. I particularly appreciate the detailed list of things to bring and activities to do at Geneva State Park. I’m curious, have you tried all of these activities yourself? Which one is your favourite? Also, I noticed that you mentioned there are cabins and lodging in the area. Have you ever stayed in one of those instead of camping? This article is a great resource for anyone planning a camping trip to Geneva State Park. Thanks for sharing your insights and tips!
Hello! I have stayed in cabins instead of camping, but not at that location. I have tried or done all the activities I have listed at one time or another. I like to go canoeing is my favorite thing while camping. I also like the outdoor cooking of food and the taste of chicken, fish or most things to be cooked on a grill or over the campfire. Camping is lots of fun or relaxing.
