Mount Gilead State Park Oh camping
UncategorizedGreetings! I’m Jeff and this is my camping site. I like the outdoors and to camp at new locations. jeff@mycampingvacationsites.com 41119 State Route 95 Mount Gilead Oh 43338 (419) 946-1961 A great place to take a vacation away from everyday things. Review thing to bring with you so you don’t forget anything. Find a place to set up a campsite. Build a campfire and pitch your tent. A cooler with food and beverages to keep food chilled. Rv-Camper with a generator in case there are not any power hook-ups available. There are cabins for rent and lodging in the area. There are a couple small trails that people can take a hike on. Wear good boots or sneakers on any hiking adventure. Canteen for cold water to drink along the way on your hike. Jogging, walking, and mountain bike riding are popular activities. There may not be cell phone connection available in some areas. Set of walkie talkies could be used for a substitute about talking to other hikers. Have a camera to take awesome photos of scenery along your walks through the park. Insect repellent to keep those nasty mosquitoes away. A campfires smoke helps keep flying insects away. Gilead Lakes are nearby and can go Canoeing, kayak, and are fun to paddle around a lake or river. Wear a life jacket for safety purposes. Water ski and wind sailing are lots of fun. Scuba diving and snorkeling are exciting activities. Bring your fishing poles as there are many species of fish on the lake. Can fish from a boat or from along the shore. Take the fish you catch back to camp and have a cookout over the campfire or grill for dinner. Have a container with soapy water and another with rinse water. There are lots of animals in the woods that can smell food cooking from a way away. Washing the dishes helps to cut the smell that brings animals to your campsite. Try not to leave food out while away from the camp or at night while people are sleeping.
Lay out and get a suntan on hot summer days and then take a dip in the water to cool off. At night can take a swim and the water feels warmer. An innertube or a raft to play around in the water near the shore. Take long strolls in the woods on paths or trails and look at the scenery. Have a picnic as there are picnic tables at the park. Lay on a hammock to relax and read a book. A group of people can play volleyball. There are many activities such as corn hole, ring toss, and horseshoes. Play a board game or cards. Throw around a football or a frisbee. Play catch with a ball and glove. There are playgrounds at the park for the kids. They can play laser tag at night and hide and seek. Have a telescope and look at the stars and constellations. Pet policy- Dogs and cats are allowed at the park. Dogs must be kept on a leash no longer than 6 feet and please clean up after your pet. Pets are not permitted in cabins or the lodge area. Please call to allow other pets or for breed restrictions. These are some of the activities at the park and there are much more. Mount Gilead State Park looks idyllic for camping. It is always a bonus when you can camp by a pretty body of water with adventurous hikes nearby. There are so many things you can do on the water to entertain yourself, as you mentioned like windsurfing and canoeing.
I also learned something new. I didn’t know that the smoke from a campfire chased the mosquitoes away.
Hello, from what I have noticed that has helped about the mosquitoes. I have lots of articles now like 170. Some of the locations like Havasu Falls, Az sounds and looks pretty good. The finger lakes are at N.Y. state and a real nice area. I live 3 hours from those lakes. Have another article camping at the Adirondack Mountains and those are large mountains in an area and another 3 hours another direction from me. That would be a good place to go hiking, canoeing and swimming. I live ion the Apalachin Mountains, and these are real small mountains compared to those. Thanks for responding about my article. Thought I’d say hi and leave a message.
