Black Canyon Co Camping
UncategorizedGreetings! I’m Jeff and this is my camping site. I like the outdoors and to camp at different locations. https://mycampingvacationsites.com 10346 Co-347 Montrose, CO 81401 (970) 641-2337 A nice place to take a vacation get away from every day things. Review things to bring so you don’t forget anything. Locate a place to set up your campsite. Build a campfire and pitch your tent. Have a cooler with food and beverages kept chilled. Rv-Camper with a generator in case there are no power hook ups available. Can rent a cabin and there is lodging in the area. Have good sturdy hiking boots with good cushion soles. There are many trails to go hiking on in the area. Canteen with cold water to drink along the way on the trail. Have a backpack for overnight stay and continue your hike the next day. Walking, Mountain bike riding, jogging and horseback on the trails are popular activities. Cell phone connection may not be available in some areas. Set of walkie talkies could be used as a substitute to talk to others in your camping group. Bug repellent for those nasty mosquitoes. Campfires smoke helps keep flying insects away from your camp. Have a camera to take awesome photos of the scenery to look at later.
Canoe, Kayak, on the river and flow with the current downstream. There may be strong currents and rapids in some places that can tip your boat over. Wearing a life jacket for safety while boating is a good idea. Scuba diving and snorkeling are popular activities. Water ski and wind sailing can be lots of fun. Bring your fishing poles as there are many species of fish in the river to catch. Can fish from the boat or along the shore. Have a cookout back at the campsite over the campfire or grill for dinner. There are animals in the woods that can smell your food cooking from a distance and come to your camp. Wash your dishes in a couple containers, one with soapy water and the other with rinse water. Washing the dishes cuts the smell of food. Try not to leave food out while away from the camp or at night while people are sleeping.
Lay out and get a suntan on hot summer days and then take a dip in the water to cool off. Swim at night and the water feels warmer. Float on an innertube or raft on the river and check out the scenery. There are many activities such as corn hole, ring toss, and horseshoes. Play board games or cards. Throw around a football or frisbee. Play catch with a ball and glove. There are playgrounds the kids can play on. At night they can play laser tag and hide and seek. Have a telescope to look at the stars and constellations. Skip stones on the river. Take long walks in the woods on paths or trails and look at the scenery. There are picnic tables and have a picnic. Lay on a hammock to relax and read a book. Groups of people can play volleyball or soccer. Pet Policy- At Black Canyon Gunnison National Park, leashed pets are permitted in picnic areas, campgrounds and parking lots, on paths to overlooks and along roads currently open to vehicles. Leashed pets are also permitted on Rim Rock Trail. Leashes must be a maximum of 6 feet in length. These are some of the activities you can have and there is much more.
