Locate a place to set up your campsite. Build a campfire and pitch your tent. Have a cooler with food and beverages kept cold. Rv- Camper with a generator in case there are no power hook-ups available. Rent a cabin and there is lodging in the area. Has several trails ranging from small to long distance trails. Have good boots or sneakers with good cushion soles for the hike trails. Canteen with cold water to drink along the way on your hike. Mountain bike riding, walking, and jogging are popular activities.
There may not be cell phone activity in some areas. Set of walkie talkies would be a good substitute to have in your camping group. Insect repellent for those nasty mosquitoes. Smoke from a campfire helps keep flying insects away from your camp. Have a camera to take awesome photos of the scenery to look at later. Canoes, Kayaks, to paddle around the lake or river to look at the scenery. Boating on a river does have strong currents and rapids that can tip over your boat. Have a life jacket for safety purposes. Scuba diving and snorkeling are lots of fun. Water ski and wind sailing are popular. All public watercrafts require a Town Lake boat permit prior to the use of the lake. For more information call (480) 350-4311. Bring your fishing poles and the lake is continuously stocked with trout, bass, catfish, and sunfish. An Arizona fishing license is all that is required to go fishing at Tempe Town Lake. Fishing licenses can be purchased online or at any Arizona game and fish office and at most fishing supply and sporting goods stores. Fish from a boat or along the shore. Take fish back to your campsite for a cookout over the campfire or grill for dinner. There are many species of animals that can smell food from a distance and come to your camp hungry. Wash dishes in a couple containers, one with soapy water and the other with rinse water. Washing the dishes cuts the smell of food and you have clean dishes.
Lay out on the beach and get a suntan on hot summer days and then take a dip in the water to cool off. Take a swim a night and the water feel warmer. Have an innertube or raft and play around in the water or just relax. There are many activities such as corn hole, ring toss, and horseshoes. Play a board game or play cards. Throw around a football or frisbee. Play catch with a ball and glove. Groups of people can play volleyball or soccer. There are playgrounds at parks for the kids to play on. They can play laser tag and hide and seek at night. Have a telescope to look at the stars and constellations. Skip stones in a river or on a lake.
Have a picnic as there are picnic tables at the park. Take long walks in the area on paths or trails and go sight see. Lay on a hammock to relax and read a book. Pet policy- Pets are allowed at the park. Leash no longer than six feet for your pet. Please clean up after your pet. These are some of the activities you can have at the park.
