;;Petit Jean State Park AR Camping Vacation
UncategorizedGreetings! I’m Jeff and this is my camping site. I like the outdoors and to camp at new locations. jeff@mycampingvacationsites.com 1285 Petit Jean Mountain Rd. Morrilton, AR 72110-9362 (501) 727-5441 Looking for a place to take a vacation away from your everyday things. Review things to bring along so you don’t forget anything. Locate a place to set up your campsite. Build a campfire and pitch your tent. Have a cooler with food and beverages kept cold. RV- Camper with a generator in case there are no power hook-ups available. Can rent a cabin and there is lodging in the area. Has a historic Mather Lodge, a 24-room lodge overlooking Cedar Creek Canyon with a restaurant, meeting rooms, gift shop. There are many small hiking trails and a long trail. Can have a backpacking few days and hike along the long trail and set up a temporary camp and continue the next day. Wear good boots or sneakers with good cushion soles. Canteen to have cold water to drink along the way. Mountain bike riding, horseback riding, walking, and jogging are popular. Has a spectacular 95-foot Cedar Falls, the Grotto, and Natural Bridge locations.
There may not be cell phone connection available in some areas. Set of walkie talkies may be a good substitute to talk to other campers in your camping group. Have a camera to take awesome photos of the scenery to look at later. Insect repellent for those nasty mosquitoes. Campfire smoke helps keep flying insects away from your campsite.
Canoes, kayaks, to paddle around on a lake or river to look at the views and enjoy your day. Boating on a river has strong currents and rapids that can tip over your boat. Wear life jackets for safety purposes. Scuba diving and snorkeling are lots of fun. Water ski and wind sailing are a blast. Bring your fishing poles as there are many species of fish you can catch. Has largemouth bass, crappie, shellcrackers and catfish are the highlights. There’s also redfish, snook, flounder, and striped bass. Can fish from a boat or along the shore. Bring your catch back to the campsite and have a cookout over the campfire or grill for dinner. Wash your dishes in a couple containers, one with soapy and the other with rinse water. There are animals in the area that can smell food from a distance and come to your camp. Washing the dishes cuts the smell of food and you have clean dishes. Try not to leave food out while away from your campsite or at night while people are sleeping.
Lay out in the sun on hot summer days and get a suntan and then take a dip in the water to cool off. Swim at night and the water feels warmer. Have an innertube or raft to play around in the water or just relax. There are many activities such as corn hole, ring toss, and horseshoes. Play board games or cards. Throw around a football or frisbee. Play catch with a ball and glove. There are playgrounds at the park for kids to play on. They can play laser tag at night and hide and seek. Have a telescope to look at the starts and constellations. Skip stones on a lake or river.
There are picnic tables at the park and have a picnic. Walk around on paths or trails and go sight see. Lay on a hammock to relax and read a book. Can play volleyball or soccer with a group of campers. Pet Policy- Pets are allowed at the park. Keep dogs on a leash no longer than 6 feet. Please clean up after your pet. These are some of the activities you can have at the park. Leave a message at the bottom comment section if you like. Click on my e-mail to leave a message also.
