Jacks Fork River MO Camping Vacation
UncategorizedGreetings! I’m Jeff and this is my camping site. I like the outdoors and new places to camp at. jeff@mycampingvacationsites.com 19433 MO-106 Eminence MO 65466 (800) 522-5736 A real nice place to take a vacation get away from the everyday things. Review things to bring along so you don’t forget anything. Locate a place to set up your campsite. Build your campfire and pitch your tent. Have a cooler with food and beverages. RV- Camper with a generator in case there are no power hook-ups available. There may be cabins for rent and lodging in the area. Jacks Canyon Trail number 55 is a 3-hour trail. Wear boots or sneakers with good cushion soles on any hiking trails. Have a canteen with cold water with you on any trails. Can do backpacking and set up a temporary camp and continue your hike the next day. There are many activities such as Mountain bike riding, horseback riding, walking, and jogging that are popular. There may not be cell phone connection available in some areas. Set of walkie talkies would be a good substitute to have with your camping group. Have a camera to take photos of the awesome scenery to look at later. Insect repellent for those nasty mosquitoes. Campfires smoke helps keep flying insects away.
Canoes, kayaks, to paddle around on the river and look at the scenery and enjoy the day. There are strong currents and rapids that can tip over your boat. Water ski and wind sailing are popular activities. Scuba diving and snorkeling are lots of fun. Bring your fishing poles as there are many species of fish to be caught. Can fish from a boat or from along the shore. Take your catch back to the campsite and have a cookout over the campfire or grill for dinner. Wash your dishes in a couple containers, one with soapy water and the other with rinse water. There are many animals in the woods that can smell food from a distance and come to your camp hungry. Try not to leave food out while away from the camp and at night when people are sleeping.
Lay out in the sun and get a suntan on hot summer days and then take a dip in the water to cool off. Take a swim at night and the water feels warmer. Have an innertube or raft to play around on or to just relax and float downstream on the current. There are many activities such as corn hole, ring toss, and horseshoes. Play a board game or cards. Throw around a football or frisbee. Play catch with a ball and glove. Groups of people can play volleyball or soccer. There are playgrounds at the park for the kids. They can play laser tag and hide and seek at night. Have a telescope to look at the stars and constellations. Can skip stones on the river or lake. Those who like to go rock climbing will enjoy this. There are rock walls or ledges at the park. The majority of the climbing is characterized by steep highly pocketed limestone/sandstone mix cliffs. There are fixed anchoring systems to keep climbers safe while minimizing impact to the rock compared to traditional anchoring systems such as pitons and trees.
Have a picnic and there are picnic tables at the park. Take long walks on paths or trails to look at the scenery. Lay on a hammock to relax and read a book. Pet Policy- Responsible pet owners and their pets are welcome in Missouri State Parks. Keep it to dogs or fewer per camp site. Keep your pet on a leash no longer than 10 feet. Keep your pet under control and quiet at all times. Do not leave pet unattended. Clean up your pet’s waste. Failure to abide by certain rules may result in a citation or your removal from the park. These are some of the things you can do at the park and there is more. Leave a message at the bottom in the comment section if you like. Click on my e-mail and leave a message also.
