Thompson Vista AZ Camping Vacation
UncategorizedGreetings! I’m Jeff and this is my camping site. I like the outdoors and new places to camp at. jeff@mycampingvacationsites.com 7997 Lake Mary Rd. Flagstaff AZ, 86001 (928) 526-0866 Looking for a place to take a vacation get away from the everyday usual things. Then look no further and there is plenty of forest, streams, rivers, and lakes in this area. Review things to bring so you don’t forget anything. Look for a place to set up your campsite. Build a campfire and pitch your tent. Have a cooler with food and beverages kept cold. Have an RV-Camper with a generator in case there are no power hook ups available. There may be cabins to rent and lodging in the area. There are a couple small trails in the area where you can enjoy the day and a hiking adventure. Have boots or sneakers with good cushion soles wherever you decide to go trail hiking. Canteen with cold water to drink along the way. There are activities such as Mountain bike riding, walking, Horseback riding, and jogging that are popular.
There may not be cell phone connection in some areas. Set of walkie talkies would be a good substitute to have for a group of campers to communicate with each other. Insect repellent for those nasty mosquitoes. Campfires smoke helps keep flying insects away from your campsite. Havea camera to take awesome photos of the scenery to look at later. Canoes, kayaks, to paddle around a lake or river and look at the scenery. Boating on a river has strong currents and rapids that can tip over your boat. Wear life jackets for safety purposes. Scuba diving and snorkeling are lots of fun. Water ski and wind sailing are popular activities. Bring your fishing poles as there are many species of fish to be caught. Can fish from a boat or along the shore. There are several species of fish in the area such a gila trout, Apache trout, rainbow trout, largemouth bass, sunfish, and channel fish. Have a cookout after back at the campsite over the campfire or grill for dinner. There are many species of animals in the area that can smell food from a distance that can come to your camp hungry. Wash your dishes in a couple containers, one with soapy water and the other with rinse water. Washing your dishes keeps the dishes clean and cuts the smell of food. Try not to leave food out while away from your campsite and at night while people are sleeping. Lay out in the sun on hot summer day and get a suntan and then take a dip in the water to cool off. Take a swim at night and the water feels warmer. Have and innertube or raft to float around on the lake. Can float on a rivers current going downstream and enjoy the day. There are activities you can play corn hole, ring toss, and horseshoes. Play board games or cards. Throw around a football or frisbee. Play catch with a ball and glove. There are playgrounds at the park for the kids to play on. Play laser tag and hide and seek at night. Have a telescope to look at the stars and constellations. Skip stones on a lake or river. Have a picnic on a blanket or at the picnic tables. Take long walks on paths or trails and look at the scenery. Have a hammock to relax on and read a book. Groups of people can play volleyball or soccer. Pet Policy- Hiking with your dogs on Arizona trails is not permitted just yet. Bring lots of water for you and your pet. Ensure your pet is up to date on vaccines. Yield to other hikers, bikers and horses. Please keep pet on a leash no longer than 6 feet. These are some of the activities you can have at the park and there is more. Leave a message at the bottom in the comment section if you like. Can click on my e-mail site if you like also. Thank you Jeff for another fabulous informative article, this one discussing the value in taking a Thompson Vista AZ Camping Vacation. I know this will be beneficial to many folks who are setting at home right now planning their summer vacations not that the weather has warmed up and spring is upon us.
I like hearing that there are plenty of options to experience the great outdoors through the forest, streams, rivers, and lakes in this area. Sounds like a lot of fun!
I wonder, does this campground have full hook-ups if I am pulling an RV?
I like this article and seems to be a good location. Thanks for the reply. There are 38 sites available for Rv-camper power hook-ups. I also put in about a solar generator that I think would be a good idea as someone traveling and what’s available upon arrival at the camp site.
