This may be the place you would like to give a try. Review things to bring along so you don’t forget anything. Woods Canyon Group area is located in north central Arizona near the community of Forest Lakes. The camp is adjacent to popular Woods Canyon Lake and situated in thick pine forests. Providing for a great get away for large groups of people. Locate a place to set up your campsite. Build your campfire and pitch a tent. Have a cooler with food and beverages kept cold. An Rv-Camper with a generator in case there are no power hook ups available. There may be cabins for rent and lodging in the area. There may not be cell phone connection available in some areas. Set of walkie talkies would be a good idea to have for groups of campers. Insect repellent for those nasty mosquitoes. Campfires smoke helps keep flying insects away from your campsite. Have a camera to take awesome photos of the scenery to look at later. Would be a good idea to have an emergecy medical kit if needed. Canoe or a kayak to paddle around the lake and look at the scenery. Snorkeling and scuba diving are lots of fun. Water ski and wind sailing are a blast. Wear a life jacket for safety purposes. Bring your fishing poles as there are many species of fish to be caught. Can fish from a boat or from along the shore. There are rainbow, tiger, and brown trout, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, black crappie, sunfish, and catfish. Take your catch back to your camp for a cookout over the campfire or grill. Wash your dishes in a couple containers, one with soapy water and the other with rinse water. There are many animals in the woods that can smell your food from a distance and come to your camp hungry. Washing the dishes cuts the smell of food and you have clean dishes. Try not to leave food out while your away from the campsite or at night when people are sleeping. Lay out in the sun on hot summer days and get a suntan and then take a dip in the water to cool off. Take a swim at night and the water feels warmer. Have an innertube and raft to play around in the water. Can float downstream on a river and flow with the water current and enjoy the day. There are activities such as corn hole, ring toss, and horseshoes. Play a board game or cards. Throw around a football or frisbee. Play catch with a ball and glove. There are playgrounds the kids can play on at the park. They can play laser tag and hide and seek at night. Have a telescope to look at the stars and constellations. Can skip stones on a river or lake. Have a picnic on a blanket or at the picnic tables. Take long walks on paths or trails and look at the scenery. Lay on a hammock to relax and read a book. Groups of people can play volleyball or soccer. Pet Policy- Dogs are allowed and must be attended to at all times. Should be on a leash no longer than 6 feet.
