I’m Jeff and this is my camping site. I like the outdoors and new places to camp at.       jeff@mycampingvacationsites.com                                                                                                                                                                                                                      1250 S. Pinetop Dr.                                                                                                      Williams, Az 86046                                                                                                    (928) 699-1239                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                               Looking for a place to take a vacation away from your everyday things. Then you may have found the place that you’re looking for. Review things to bring along so you don’t forget anything.                                                                                                                                     Locate a place to set up your campsite. Build a campfire and pitch your tent on a good flat surface. Have a cooler with food and beverages kept chilled. An Rv-Camper with a generator in case there are no power hook-ups available. Rent a cabin and there may be lodging in the area.                                                                                     There is a 2.2-mile loop trail you could hike on. The starting point for that trail is right at the boat launch. You will see a no parking sign and the trail dips down a hill. Have good boots or sneakers hiking on any trail. Canteen with cold water to drink along the way on the trail. Walking, mountain bike riding, and jogging are popular.                                                                                                           08f0acfb834f84fdd0bdab2b2ab62afe cropped 1685890726                                         6a2f12b01d64e63d885dfd0dbd02b6ba cropped 1685891211             There may not be cell phone connection available in some areas. Set of walkie talkies would be a good substitute for a group of hikers. Have a camera to take awesome photos of the scenery to look at later. Bug spray or repellent for those nasty mosquitoes. Campfires smoke helps keep flying insects away. Have a small first aid kit if needed.                                                                                                             e148744d9ebb624b16e5772946d8039c cropped 1685891423             Have a canoe or kayak to paddle around and look at the scenery and enjoy the day. Have life jackets for safety purposes.  Scuba diving and snorkeling are popular activities. Water ski and wind sailing are lots of fun.                                                                                                Bring your fishing poles as there are many species of fish to be caught. Can fish from a boat or from along the shore. There are rainbow trout, brown trout, crappie, bluegill, and largemouth bass. Take your catch back to the campsite and cook over the campfire or grill for dinner.                                                                                                There are many species of animals in the woods that can smell food and come to your camp hungry. Wash your dishes in a couple containers, one with soapy water and the other with rinse water. Washing your dishes cuts the smell of food and you have clean dishes.                                                                                                                    Try not to leave food out while your away from the campsite or when people are sleeping. Keeping food stored in a vehicle helps keep your food away from animals.                                                   b644de97bf011a4afbca71934f3abbeb cropped 1685892367              Lay out in the sun on hot summer days and get a suntan and then take a dip in the water to cool off. Take a swim at night and the water feels warmer. Have an innertube of raft to float around and have fun.                                                                                                            There are many activities such as corn hole, ring toss, and horseshoes. Play a board game or cards. Throw around a football or frisbee. Play catch with a ball and glove.                                                              There are playgrounds at the park for the kids to play on. They can play laser tag and hide and seek at night. Have a telescope to look at the stars and constellations. Can skip stones on a lake or river.

Have a picnic on a blanket or at the picnic tables. Take long walks on paths or trails and look at the scenery. Have a hammock to relax on and maybe read a book. Groups of people can play volleyball or soccer.                                                                                              Pet policy- Pets are allowed at the park. Must be kept on a leash no longer than 6 feet. Pets must be under control at all times. Please clean up after your pet.                                                                            These are some of the things you can do at the park and there is more. 2. Hello Jeff! I just finished reading your article Dogtown Lake Az Camping Vacation, and I really enjoyed reading it. I’ve never been to Arizona before, but, it looks really beautiful! I just might have to make that my next trip, if I’m in that area sometime.

I was just wondering, is there free parking at this campsite, if you were to bring along a car or a tow-behind trailer camper? Or would you have to pay for parking on a daily or weekly basis, depending on how long you were planning to stay at the camping site?

I really enjoyed the pictures of the lovely scenery that this campsite has to offer. That waterfall and those mountainous views are really picturesque.

Excellent article about Dogtown Lake Az Camping Vacations! Thank you again for such a great read of an article Jeff! It was very interesting, detailed, and informative.

  3. Hi there,

Wow, that’s a fantastic article. I love it!

We are planning a camping vacation this summer, but we don’t know where. Dogtown Lake seems to be a fantastic place for camping and hiking, and also fishing. I do have a few questions if you don’t mind. Is it allowed to grill in the camp? If so, do we need to bring our own grill? I also wanted to know if there are fishing boat charters in the area, as we love to fish:)

Would it be more prudent to get waterproof photograph apparel?

    Thanks a lot!
