Prescott, Az 86303 (928) 777-1122 Looking for a place to take a vacation away from your everyday things. Then you may have found the correct place. Review things to bring along so you don’t forget anything. Located in the Prescott National Forest. Find a place to set up a campsite. Build your campfire and pitch your tent on a flat surface. Have a cooler with food and beverages kept cold. An Rv-camper with a generator in case there are no power hook-ups available. Can rent a cabin and there may be lodging in the area. Goldwater Lakes trail #396 is a forested trail shaded by dense stands of ponderosa pine. There are excellent views of upper and lower Goldwater Lakes. This trail traverses a landscape of hills and ridges. Have good hiking boots or sneaker with good, cushioned soles for any hiking. Canteen with cold water to drink along your trail hike. Horseback riding, mountain bike riding, walking, and jogging are popular on the trails. There may not be any cell phone connection available in some areas. Set of walkie talkies would be a good substitute to communicate with other campers in your group. Have a camera to take awesome photos of the scenery to look at later. Insect repellent for those nasty mosquitoes. Campfires smoke helps keep flying insects away from your campsite. Have a small first aid kit if ever needed.

Have a canoe or kayak to paddle around the lake and enjoy the views. Wear life jackets for safety purposes. Scuba diving and snorkeling are fun. Water ski and wind sailing are a blast. Bring your fishing poles as there are many species of fish to be caught. Can fish from a boat or from along the shore. The lake is stocked with several kinds of fish including blue gill, channel fish, and rainbow trout. Take your catch back to the campsite to have a cookout over the campfire or grill for dinner. Wash your dishes in a couple containers, one with soapy water and the other with rinse water. Washing your dishes helps reduce the smell of food and you have clean dishes. There are several species of animals in the woods that can smell food from a distance and can come to your camp hungry. Try not to leave food out while away from the campsite or at night while people are sleeping. Storing food in a vehicle helps keep the food safe and out of reach of animals. Lay out on the shore and get a suntan on hot summer days and then take a dip in the water to cool off. Take a swim at night and the water feels warmer. Have an innertube or raft to play around in the water. There are many activities such as corn hole, ring toss, and horseshoes. Can play a board game or cards. Throw around a football or frisbee. Play catch with a ball and glove. There are playgrounds at the park for the kids to play on. They can play laser tag and hide and seek at night. Have a telescope to look at the stars and constellations. Skip rocks along a lake or river. Have a picnic on a blanket or at a picnic table. Take long walks on paths or trails and look at the scenery. Have a hammock to relax on and maybe read a book. Groups of people can play volleyball or soccer. Pet Policy- Dogs are allowed and must be kept on a leash no longer than 6 feet. Please clean up after your pet. Must be in control of your pet at all times. These are some of the activities you can have at the park and there is more. Leave a message if you like at the bottom in the comment box. Can click on my e mail to leave a message also.
