;;Lake Tahoe Valley CA, Camping Vacation
UncategorizedGreetings! I’m Jeff and this is my camping site. I like the outdoors and to camp at new locations. jeff@mycampingvacationsites.com 1175 Melba Dr South Lake Tahoe Ca 91650 (530) 541-2222 Looking for a place to take a vacation away from your everyday things. Then you may have just found the place you were looking for. Review things to bring so you don’t forget anything. Tahoe Valley Campground is privately owned with 415 sites, full hookup, pull through, RV, dump, water, electric, sewer, showers, flush toilet, laundry, heated pool in summer, general store, tennis and sport courts, horseshoe pits. During the spring and summer all four areas are open. One remains open during the winter. The campground spans more than 60 acres and includes a campground, a general store, a laundry site and more. The forest has many developed campgrounds. Visit mid-week to avoid crowds. Campgrounds are available by reservation or on a first come first serve basis. Many recreation sites offer barrier free access. Make sure you know the campgrounds specific name rather than just the recreational area. Locate a place to set up your campsite. Build your campfire and pitch your tent at a flat location. Have a cooler with food and beverages kept cold. An RV- Camper in case there are no hook-ups available for back up at any camping location. Can rent a cabin and there may be lodging in the area. There are several hiking trails from short to long distance to choose from. Have boots or sneakers with good cushion soles for any trail hiking. Have a canteen with cold water for any trails. Can go backpacking and set up a temporary overnight camp and continue your hike the next day. Plan what trails to hike ahead of time, so you won’t be in a hurry to decide what trails to take. ATV, walking, mountain bike riding, horseback riding and jogging are popular activities. There may not be any cell phone connection available in some areas. Walkie talkies would be a good substitute for groups of campers to communicate. Have a camera to take awesome photos of the scenery to look at later. Insect repellent for those nasty mosquitoes. Campfire smoke helps keep flying insects away from your camp. Have a first aid kit in case ever needed.
Lake Tahoe is a freshwater lake in the western Sierra of the Western part of Nevada. Straddling the border with California. Lying at 2665 ft above sea level. Lake Tahoe is the largest alpine lake in North America. Its depth is 1,645 ft, making it the second deepest in the United States after crater lake at Oregon. Have a canoe or kayak to paddle around the lake and look at the scenery. Wear a life jacket for safety purposes. Water ski and wind sailing are popular activities. Scuba diving and snorkeling are lots of fun. Boating on a river has strong currents and rapids that can tip over your boat. Bring your fishing poles as there are many species of fish to be caught. Can fish from a boat or from along the shore. There is rainbow trout which is one of the most common species in the lake. There is Lohan tan cutthroat trout, Mackinaw trout, kokanee salmon, brown trout, bass, panfish, and catfish. Take your catch back to the campsite and have a cookout over the campfire or grill for dinner. Wash your dishes in a couple containers, one with soapy water and the other with rinse water. There are many species of animals that can smell your food from a distance that can come to your camp hungry. Washing the dishes cuts the smell of food and you have clean dishes. Try not to leave food out while away from the campsite and at night when people are sleeping. Can store food in a vehicle to keep food away from the animals. Lay out in the sun on hot summer days and get a suntan and then take a dip in the water to cool off. Have a swim at night and the water feels warmer. Get an innertube or raft and play around in the water or just relax. Can float on an innertube downstream on a river and flow with the current and look at the scenery. There are playgrounds at the park for the kids to play on. They can play laser tag or hide and seek at night. Have a telescope to look at the stars and constellations. Can skip stones on the lake or on a river. Have a picnic on a blanket or at the picnic table. Take long walks on paths and trails and look at the scenery. Lay on a hammock to relax and maybe read a book. Groups of people can play volleyball or soccer. There may be a miniature golf course at the park Pet Policy- Pets are allowed at all tent and RV sites. ( a maximum of 2 pets per camp site) Pets not permitted at yurts. Pets are not allowed on beaches. Additional pet fees assessed. Dogs should be on a leash no longer than 6 feet and attended at all times. Please clean up after your pet. These are some of the activities you can have at the park and there is more. Leave a message at the bottom comment section if you like. Enjoy your camping adventure wherever you decide to go camping.
