100 Park Moabi Rd. Needles, CA 92363 (760) 326-9000 Looking for a place to take a vacation then look no further as there are many things to do at this location. Can bring the family or for a couple or group of people to relax and enjoy there time away from your everyday things for something different. Review things you need to bring along, so you don’t forget anything. This secluded California oasis is located in the Moabi Regional Park, on the banks of the Colorado River. Just 11 miles southeast of Needles, California. Pirates Cove offers an oasis that brings you back to a simpler life where you can eat, drink, play, and unwind the pirate’s way. Locate a place to set up your campsite. Build a campfire and pitch your tent on a flat location. Have a cooler with food and beverages kept cold. Have an RV-Camper with a generator in case there are no power hook-ups available. RV sites come with a 30 amp or 50-amp electric service. Rent a cabin and there is the Pirate Cove Resort and lodging in the area. At Pirate Cove there are several trails to choose from short to long trail hiking. Have boots or sneakers with good cushion soles for any hiking. Canteen to have with you to drink cold water along any hiking adventure. There are 3- and 4-wheel vehicles, horseback riding, ATV, mountain bike riding, and walking and jogging activities. There may not be any cell phone connection in some areas. Set of walkie talkies would be a good substitute for a group of hikers. Have a camera to take awesome photos of the scenery to look at later. Insect repellent for those nasty mosquitoes. Campfires smoke helps keep flying insects away from your campsite. Have a first aid kit in case ever needed. Have a canoe or kayak to paddle around and look at the scenery and enjoy the day. Wear a life jacket for safety purposes. Boating on a river has strong currents and rapids that can tip over your boat. Water ski and wind sailing are popular activities. Scuba diving and snorkeling are lots of fun. Bring your fishing poles as there are many species of fish to be caught. Can fish from a boat or from along the shore. There is barred surfperch, leopard shark, yellowfin croaker, striped bass, California sheephead and many other fish species. Take your catch back to your campsite and have a cookout over the campfire or grill for dinner. Wash your dishes in a couple containers, one with soapy water and the other with rinse water. Washing your dishes cuts the smell of food and you have clean dishes. There are many species of animals in the area that can smell food and come to your camp hungry. Try not to leave food out while away from the camp and at night when people are sleeping. Storing food in a vehicle helps keep food away from the animals. Lay out on the beach and get a suntan on hot summer days and then take a dip in the water to cool off. Take a swim at night and the water feels warmer. Have an innertube or raft and play around in the water or just relax. Can float downstream on a river and ride the current on a innertube and enjoy the day. There are many activities such as corn hole, ring toss, and horseshoes. Play a board game or cards. Throw around a football or frisbee. Play catch with a ball and glove. There may be a miniature golf course. There are playgrounds at the park that the kids can play on. They can play laser tag and hide and seek at night. Have a telescope to look at the stars and constellations. Can skip stones in the lake or river. Can have a picnic on a blanket or at the picnic tables. Take long walks on paths or trails and look at the scenery. Lay on a hammock to relax and maybe read a book. Groups of people can play volleyball or soccer. These are some of the activities someone can have at Pirate Cove and there is more. Leave a message at the comment section at the bottom if you like. Can click on my e-mail and leave a message also. Hey thanks again for this amazing post!
I was just on your other post on another camping site which was as great as the one mentioned here too! I really am a fan of the variety of activities here on offer. It means even those who aren’t a fan of camping have something to look forward to.
Just a question, would you know of any in the uk or Europe?
Have a great day!
Hello! I like this Pirate Cove and it would be a good vacation for anyone. It’s a little more different than just a camping vacation. Has many things and can go hiking, swimming, boating and many more things.
I Sure the are many camping locations in the U.K. and Europe. I have not any articles that I have done outside of the U.S. However have thought maybe to write a bunch about other locations.
I just had a look at your site and it is very intriguing and looks like a very exciting place to vacate. Although I don’t kayak or swim, some of the places listed on your website makes me want to learn. In fact, it is an awesome place to camp and take plenty of memorable pictures. Job well done!
Be Blessed!
Hello! I like this particular vacation spot that I wrote about. That gives more of a different aspect to camping. Sort of adding things that are not at just any place to visit or camp at. Sort of like a theme park also.
The camping described here sounds idyllic. I’m not a camper but I’d like to visit here. I like 4 – wheeling and horseback riding but want to sleep in a bed so would probably pick up a camper instead of a tent. I’ve been to California but it was a visit to losAngeles and VanNuys. The weather was beautiful and I enjoyed the sights. Camping in California sounds like another way I can enjoy this State.
Hello! This location to camp at is different and has more things than camping. Sort of like a theme park and there are many activities.
Pirate Cove sounds like an incredible getaway for those seeking a rustic and adventurous camping experience. The diverse range of activities, from hiking and water sports to campfires and stargazing, offers something for everyone. Disconnecting from cell phones and immersing oneself in nature’s beauty while enjoying camaraderie with family or friends seems like the perfect recipe for a memorable vacation. Just remember to pack essentials like insect repellent, first aid kits, and proper footwear for the hiking trails.
Hello! I like this location and would be a good time for the family or individuals.
