I’m Jeff and this is my camping site. I like the outdoors and to camp at new locations.
626 Forest Grove Way Camp Verde AZ (928) 204-0028 Looking for a place to take a vacation away from your everyday things. Then you may have just found the place you’re looking for. Review things to bring along so you don’t forget anything. Locate a place to set up your campsite. Build a campfire and pitch your tent on flat ground. Have a cooler with food and beverages kept cold. An RV-camper with a generator in case there are no power hook-ups available. There may be cabins for rent and lodging in the area. At Clear Creek Az there are many trails in the area. From small trails to more than 10-mile-long trails. Have boots or sneakers with good, cushioned soles for any camping. Canteen with cold water to drink along any trail hiking. Can go backpacking and set up a temporary overnight camp and continue your hiking the next day. Would be a good idea to plan what trails you plan to be going on ahead of time so you can enjoy your adventure. Mountain bike riding. ATV, horseback riding, walking and jogging are popular activities. There may not be any cell phone connection available in some areas. Having a set of walkie talkies would be a good substitute for groups of campers. Camera to take awesome photos of the scenery to look at later. Insect repellent for those nasty mosquitoes. Campfires smoke helps keep flying insects away from your campsite. Have a first aid kit in case ever needed. A cozy group campground is tucked in the lower Sonoran Desert along the banks of the fresh, chilly Clear Creek. Campers can wade in the creek, fish or curl up with a book under the umbrella of cottonwood trees. Another popular past time here is birdwatching, where you might just spot a hawk or bald eagle in flight. Clear Creek campground is seven miles southeast of a small ranching town of Camp Verde. Its part of the Coconino National Forest. One of the most diverse forests in the country. Landscapes range from alpine tundra to desert valleys and red canyons. Have a canoe or kayak to paddle around the lake and look at the scenery and enjoy the day. Wear a life jacket for safety purposes. Water ski and wind sailing are lots of fun. Snorkeling and scuba diving are popular activities. Bring your fishing poles as there are many species of fish to be caught. Can fish from a boat or from along the shore. There is rainbow trout, sunfish, channel catfish, and largemouth bass. Take your catch back to your campsite and have a cookout over the campfire or grill for dinner. Wash your dishes in a couple containers, one with soapy water and the other in rinse water. Washing your dishes cuts the smell of food and you have clean dishes. There are many animal species in the woods that can smell your food from a distance and come to your campsite hungry. Try not to leave food out while away from your campsite or at night when people are sleeping. Storing food in a vehicle helps protect your food from the animals. Lay out in the sun on hot summer days and then take a dip in the water to cool off. Take a swim at night and the water feels warmer. Have an innertube or raft to play in the water or to just relax. Can float on a raft downstream on a river current and have fun and enjoy your day. There are many activities such as corn hole, ring toss, and horseshoes. Play a board game or cards. Throw around a football or frisbee. Play catch with a ball and glove. There are playgrounds at parks for the kids to play on. They can play laser tag and hide and seek at night. Have a telescope and look at the stars and constellations. Can skip rocks in a river or on a lake. Can have a picnic on a blanket or at the picnic table. Take long walks on paths or trails and look at the scenery. Lay on a hammock to relax and maybe read a book. Groups of campers can play volleyball or soccer. There may be a miniature golf course at the park for people to play at. Pet Policy- Pets are allowed but its always good to call ahead to confirm if your pet is allowed. Pets should be on a leash no longer than 6 feet. Please clean up after your pet. Pets should be attended at all times. These are some of the activities you can have at the park and there is more. I will plan to visit the Coconino national forest this holiday. Your description of the Clear Creek campground looks like a good place for a family reunion. My wife and children will like a site with access to fishing and animals of different species. And I must say thank you for the word of caution. It applies to other open camping environments. Keeping our food and other belongings in the car is safe.

Thanks for your comment. Definite a good place to store food and things while camping.
