;;Gold Lake CA Camping Vacation
UncategorizedGreetings! I’m Jeff and this is my camping site. I like the outdoors and new locations to camp at. mycampingvacationsites.com Gold Lake Highway Quincy, Ca 95971 (530) 283-2050 Looking for a place to take a vacation away from your usual everyday things. Then you may have found the place you have been wanting to visit to spend some time at. Review things to bring along with you so you don’t forget anything. Gold Lake campground has 37 campsites (11 reservable) and at an elevation next to the lake at 6,445 feet. Alot of the campsites have real good views of the lake and has beautiful peaks and mountains in the area. There’s an old mining community nearby in the area. Locate a place to set up your campsite. Build a campfire and pitch your tent on flat ground. Have a cooler with food and beverages kept chilled. An Rv-camper with a generator in case there are no power hook-ups available. Can maybe rent a cabin and there could be lodging in the area. At the campsite does accommodate trailers, Rv’s, and tents. Every campsite has a ring and grill, table, and a food storage locker (bear box). You can camp for 14 consecutive days. Can have up to two vehicles, and eight people per campsite. Check in is at 2pm and check out is at 12pm. Have amenities including a vault toilet. There isn’t piped water available. Firewood is available for purchase from the camp host. There’s a boat ramp next to the campground. The outdoor activities in the area include wildlife viewing, kayaking, canoeing, hiking, fishing and picnicking. There are several small hiking trails to choose from at the gold Lake camping area. Wear boots or sneakers with good cushion soles for your trail hiking. Have a canteen with cold water to drink along the way on any trails. For longer trails have a backpack for a temporary overnight camping and continue the next day on your trail hiking. Plan your camping adventure ahead of time so you can make plans for your vacation. Mountain bike riding, horseback riding, TV, walking and jogging are popular activities. There may not be cell phone connection available in some areas. Have a set of walkie talkies for a substitute for groups of campers to communicate with each other. Take photos of the awesome scenery along the trails or anywhere to look at later. Have insect repellent for those nasty mosquitoes. A campfires smoke helps keep flying insects away from your campsite. Have a first aid kit in case ever needed. There are bears in the area and it’s rare to come in contact with any. Black bears are the most common species of bear in California. Would be a good idea for proper storage of food to avoid contact with bears. To reduce the risk of encounters with black bears, make noise while hiking to alert bears to your presence. Please don’t feed the bears or leave food out for them. Bears that come accustomed to people feeding them can be a safety threat. Store foods and scented items securely in bear resistant containers or use bear proof storage lockers provided at the campgrounds. Cook and eat at least 100 yards away from your sleeping area. Dispose of trash properly and pack out all garbage. If camping, try to use bear resistant containers or hang food bags from trees. Have a canoe or kayak to paddle around the lake and look at the scenery and enjoy you day. Wear life jackets for safety purposes. Water ski and wind sailing are popular activities. Some lakes allow motorized boats. Paddleboarding and jet skiing are fun activities. Should be aware that mountain lake water can be quite cold even during the summer months. Bring your fishing poles as there are many species of fish to be caught while fishing. Can fish from a boat or from along the shore. There are rainbow, brown brook, and mackinaw trout, kokanee salmon, bass, bluegill, and catfish to be caught while fishing. Before going fishing would be a good idea to knows of local regulations and if a fishing permit is needed. Take your catch back to the campsite and have a cookout over the campfire or grill for dinner. Wash your dishes in a couple containers, one with soapy water and the other with rinse water. Washing your dishes cuts the smell of food and you have clean dishes. There are many animal species in the area that can smell your food from a distance and come to your camp hungry looking for food. Try not to leave food out while away from your campsite or at night when people are sleeping. Store food in a vehicle to keep away from the animals. Lay out and get a suntan on hot summer days and then take a dip in the water to cool off. Take a swim at night and the water feels warmer. Have an innertube or raft and play around in the water or just relax. Swimmers should be cautious and be aware of their swimming capabilities. There are activities such as corn hole, ring toss, and horseshoes. Play a board game or cards. Throw around a football or frisbee. Play catch with a ball and glove. Groups of campers can play softball or baseball. There are playgrounds at the park for the children to play on. They can play laser tag or hide and seek at night. Have a telescope to look at the stars and constellations. Organize a fun scavenger hunt for the kids, encouraging them to explore and discover the natural features of the campground area. Can skip stones on a river or lake. Have a picnic on a blanket or at the picnic table. Take long walks on paths or trails and look at the scenery. Can lay on a hammock to relax and maybe read a book. Groups of campers can play volleyball or soccer. Prepare an easy assortment of foods that don’t require any utensil use. Fruits, salads, sandwiches, and finger foods are a great option. Don’t forget to pack some drinks and refreshing water. Don’t forget to have sunscreen, hats, sunglasses to protect yourself from the sun’s rays. Pet Policy- Dogs must be on a leash no longer than six feet. Dogs must not be left unattended at any time. Please clean up after your dog. Have a trash bag and dispose of waste properly. These are some of the activities you can have at this location and there are more. Leave a message at the bottom comment section if you like. Click on my e-mail to leave a message also.
