;;Reelfoot Lake TN Camping Vacation
UncategorizedGreetings! I’m Jeff and this is my camping site. I like the outdoors and to camp at different locations. jeff@mycampingvacationsites.com 3075 Floyd Hall Dr. Morristown TN 37814 (423) 586-5232 Looking for a place to take a vacation away from everything for a little while. Then you may have found the location for fun or just relaxing. Review things to bring along with you so you don’t forget anything. Reelfoot Lake has 89 campsites and is located near Cherokee Dam and offers both Rv and tent camping sites. Has basic amenities like water and electric hook-ups, restrooms and showers. This campground also offers lake access for fishing and boating. Locate a place to set up your campsite. Build a campfire and pitch your tent on flat land. Have a cooler with food and beverages kept in a chilled cooler. Rv-camper with a generator in case there are no power hook-ups available. Maybe rent a cabin and there may be lodging in the area. Cherokee National Forest as a whole has many hiking trails to choose from. Plan your visit ahead of time by knowing what trails you want to go hiking on and how long it takes to complete your trail hiking. The park covers a diverse range of ecosystems, including hardwood forests and open fields. Have in mind to check about regulations and policies for the area. Have boots or sneakers with good cushion soles for any trail hiking. A canteen with cold water to drink along the way during your travels. Have a backpack with clothing and other essential things to bring along for any purposes. Can set up an overnight temporary campsite and then continue your trail hiking the next day. Mountain bike riding, ATV, horseback riding, walking and jogging are popular. The forest has bears and other animals to be concerned about. It’s rare to run into bears while camping but it’s smart to know the chance of running into one or more does exist. While hiking would be a good idea to make noise so that bears would be alerted about your being in the woods. Sneaking up on a bear can put the bear in a defensive posture that may not be good. Store food and scented items in a bear resistant container. Hanging items from a tree branch out of a bears reach is another way to keep them from food or anything. Bear spray handy and able to reach for a close encounter if that does happen. There may not be cell phone connection available in some areas. Have a set of walkie talkies as a substitute to communicate with other campers. Take photos of the awesome scenery to look at later. Insect repellent for those nasty mosquitoes. Campfires smoke helps keep flying insects away from your campsite. Have a first aid kit in case ever needed. Have a canoe or kayak to paddle around and look at the scenery and enjoy the day. Wear a life jacket for safety purposes. Water ski and wind sailing are popular activities. Jet skiing is lots of fun. Boating on a river has strong currents and rapids that can tip over your boat. Bring your fishing poles as there are many species of fish to be caught. Can fish from a boat or from along the shore. There are smallmouth and largemouth bass, spotted bass, crappie, bluegill, walleye, catfish, and white bass to be caught fishing at the lake. Check local laws and if you need a license to fish at this location. Have a cookout back at the campsite over the campfire or grill for dinner. Wash your dishes in a couple containers, one in soapy water and the other in rinse water. Washing your dishes cuts the smell of food and you have clean dishes. There are many species of animals in the area that can smell food from a distance and come to your campsite hungry. Try not to leave food out while away from your campsite or at night when people are sleeping. Storing your food in a vehicle helps keep food away from the animals. Lay out on the beach in the hot sun and get a suntan and then take a dip in the water to cool off. Take a swim at night and the water feels warmer. Have an innertube to play around in the water or just relax. Can float downstream on a river with the current and look at the sights and just relax. There are many activities such as corn hole, ring toss, and horseshoes. Play board games or cards. Throw around a football or frisbee. There may be a miniature golf course in the area for anyone to play on. Play catch with a ball and glove. Groups of campers can play softball or baseball. There are playgrounds at the park for the children to play on. They can play laser tag and hide and seek at night. Have a telescope to look at the stars and constellations. Children can build a sandcastle at the beach or playground and have a small shovel and bucket. Skip stones on a river or lake. Can have a picnic on a blanket or at the picnic table. Take long walks on paths or trails and look at the scenery and enjoy the day. lay on a hammock to relax and maybe read a book. Groups of campers can play volleyball or soccer. Prepare an assortment of easy to eat foods that don’t require much utensil use. Sandwiches, fruits, salads, and finger foods are great options. Don’t forget to pack some drinks and refreshing water. Don’t forget to have sunscreen, hats, and sunglasses to protect yourself from the sun’s rays. Pet Policy- Dogs are allowed and must be kept on a leash at all times and not be left unattended. Please clean up after your pet. Have a trash bag to dispose of waste properly. These are some of the activities you can have at this site and there is more.
