;;Lake Ouachita AR Camping Vacation
UncategorizedGreetings! I’m Jeff and this is my camping site. I like the outdoors and to camp at different locations. jeff@mycampingvacationsites.com 5451 Mountain Pine Rd. Mountain Pine Rd. , AR 71956 (800) 264-2441 Looking for a place to take a vacation away from your everyday things. Then you may have just found the site you would like to spend time at for fun or relaxing and enjoying the outdoors. Review things you would like to bring along, so you don’t forget anything. Lake Ouachita has more than 40,000 acres of clear water and is surrounded by Ouachita National Forest. There is swimming, scuba diving, skiing, boating, kayaking and fishing are enjoyed here. You can choose from a variety of day use areas and overnight accommodations. The park has 93 campsites, and some located next to the water. Offers tent and Rv camping, and even rentable cabins. The park offers amenities such as restrooms, showers, boat, picnic areas and hiking trails. It’s advisable to make reservations in advance, especially during peak hours. Someone can use the online reservation platforms to secure your spot. Be sure to familiarize any camping permits, fees, and regulations. Different campgrounds may have different rules regarding campfires, pets, and other activities. Locate a place to set up your camping site. Build a campfire and pitch your tent on flat ground. Have a cooler with food and beverages kept chilled. An Rv-camper in case there are no power hook-ups available. There may be lodging in the area. There are 8 fully equipped cabins with kitchens overlooking the lake. There are four camper cabins that are an affordable option and are right in the campground. They include one sleeping room for four with screened porch, heat/air, picnic table, outdoor grill, and lantern hanger. There are three small trails and one 13-mile-long trail. Have boots or sneakers with good cushion soles for any trail hiking. A canteen with cold water to drink along your hikes. For long trails someone could set up an overnight temporary camp and continue the next day. Mountain biking, ATV, horseback riding, walking and jogging are popular. There are black bears in the area and encounters are rare. If you do encounter a bear, its suggested to keep your distance and to know how to safely coexist with them. Make noises that can alert the bears to your presence, and they may leave the area. Coming across a bear unexpected could put the bear on the defense. Has a diverse range of species of animals in the area. Including white tailed deer, coyotes, racoons, bobcats and various bird species. There are several snake species in the area such as non-venomous and venomous like the copperhead and rattlesnakes. It’s a good idea to familiarize yourself with the types of snakes. There may not be cell phone connection available in some areas. A set of walkie talkies could be a good substitute for campers to communicate with each other. Have a camera to take awesome photos of the scenery to look at later. Insect repellent for nasty mosquitoes. Campfires smoke helps keep flying insects away from your campsites. Have a first aid kit in case ever needed. Bring your fishing poles as there are many fish species you can catch at the lake. Can fish from a boat or from along the shore. There are largemouth bass, crappie, bream, catfish, and striped bass to be caught fishing. Take your catch back to the campsite and have a cookout over the campfire or grill for dinner. Wash your dishes in a couple containers, one with soapy water and the other with rinse water. Washing your dishes cuts the smell of food and you have clean dishes. There are many species of animals in the forest that can smell your food from a distance and come to your campsite hungry. Try not to leave your food out while away from your campsite and at night when people are sleeping. Store your food in your vehicle so animals can’t get to your food. Have a canoe to paddle around the lake and look at the scenery and enjoy the day. Paddle through coves and look for hidden beaches. Wear a life jacket for safety purposes. Wind sailing and paddle boarding are lots of fun. Scuba diving and snorkeling are popular activities. Boating is a popular activity on the lake. You can bring your own boat or rent various types of boats, pontoon boats, canoes, kayaks, and motorboats. Water skiing and jet skiing are very popular activities. The lake is known for its clear waters and can explore under water submerged forests, shipwrecks, and rock formations. Various sites offer different experiences for divers of all skill levels. Would be a good idea to get to be a certified diver. Snorkeling would be a good alternative to scuba diving. As of the last known Ouachita Lake does not offer scuba diving classes for a scuba diving certificate. Someone can choose to go to a scuba diving school ahead of the vacation to get a diving certificate. Could be important to know the school’s reputation and the qualifications of the instructors. Does involve classroom instructions and practical skills training. After completing the course, you will receive a certificate that allows you to dive at various locations around the world. Lay out in the sun on hot summer days and get a suntan and then take a dip in the water to cool off. Take a swim at night and the water feels warmer. Have an innertube or raft to play around in the water or just relax. Can go tubing downstream on a river and flow with the current and enjoy the day. The water might be cold at this location. Some people like swimming at Lake Ouachitia during the summer months. Always be cautious about swimming in natural bodies of water and be aware of any posted guidelines. There are many activities such as corn hole, ring toss, and horseshoes. Play a board game or cards. Throw around a football or frisbee. Play catch with a ball and glove. There could be a miniature golf course somewhere in the area. Groups of campers can play softball or baseball.
There are playgrounds at the lake for the children to play on. They can play laser tag and hide and seek at night. Have a telescope to look at the stars and constellations. Kids can build sandcastles at the beach or anywhere there is sand. Have a small bucket and shovel. Kids can skip stones on a lake or river. Have a picnic on a blanket or at the picnic table. Take long walks on paths or trails and look at the scenery. Lay on a hammock to relax and maybe read a book. Groups of campers can play volleyball or soccer. Prepare an assortment of easy to eat foods that don’t require any utensil use. Salads, fruits, sandwiches, and finger foods are a great option. Don’t forget to pack some drinks and refreshing water. Don’t forget sunscreen, hats, and sunglasses to protect yourself from there sun’s rays. Pet Policy- Dogs are welcome and must be on a leash no longer than 6 feet and must not be left unattended. Please clean up after your pet and have a bag to dispose of the waste. These are some of the activities you can have at the lake camping.
