Then look no further as this location you can have lots of fun at or just relax. Looking for a place with good views of Lake Powell, this is your location. Review things you would like to take along, so you don’t forget anything. Wahweap campsite, not all the sites have view of Lake Powell and sites are concrete and leveled. A good place for exploring the land and lake. Has a good spacing between lots and is at northern Arizona where the Grand Canyon is. Can take scenic drives and look at the scenery. Locate a place to set up your campsite. Build a campfire and pitch your tent. Have a cooler with food and beverages kept chilled. An rv-camper with a generator in case there are no power hook-ups available. Can maybe rent a cabin and there could be lodging in the area. The campground is well maintained and provides amenities such as restrooms, showers, picnic table, and a fire pit. Another option nearby is the Stateline Campground, that also offers RV and tent camping sites. Situated along the Utah-Arizona border and has beautiful views of the lake and surrounding landscape. The weather can be hot so having sunscreen, water sunglasses and the proper clothing for very hot days. Has mysterious archeological sites brimming with Native American History and spiritual communities with renown spas. Drive long enough and you will wind up in the cosmopolitan valley of the sun. Your destination for fine art and moder eateries and spectacular scenery. The Grand Canyon stands as Arizona’s most popular attraction. Can look through the mile deep depths or take a journey down the Colorado river. At the canyon you can take a glimpse of this marvelous sight and scenery. Arizona is known for its stunning landscapes and sparkling cities. Has northerners escaping to the area from the northern winters. It’s advised to make reservations ahead of time especially during peak season. Reservations must be made thought the official National Recreation Reservation Service. Lake Powell is a popular destination for boating, swimming, fishing, canoeing-kayaking and other water-based activities. The clear blue waters and stunning rock formations make it a great place to explore. There are several hiking trails to choose from at this location. Wear hiking boots or sneakers with good cushion soles on the trails. Have a canteen to drink cold water along the way. Good idea to plan your trail hiking ahead of time. On long trails can have a backpack with a change of clothes and supplies. Set up a temporary overnight camp and then continue your trail hiking the next day. Mountain bike riding, ATV, horseback riding, walking and jogging are popular. There may not be cell phone connection in the area. Can get a set of walkie talkies to communicate with other campers. Have a camera to take awesome photos of the scenery to look at later. Insect repellent for those nasty mosquitoes. A campfires smoke helps keep flying insects away from your campsite. Have a first aid kit in case ever needed. Bears are not known to be in the area but is good to know about and be aware of them. Maybe have bear spray available in your backpack in case ever needed and know how to use correctly and at what distance to spray at. Never look a bear in the eyes and back away slowly. Maintain your campsite and clean up scraps of food in a trash bag immediately after eating. Wash dishes away from your sleeping area. Be aware of your surroundings especially while hiking and exploring. Look out for signs of wildlife and take precautions. If your hiking is a good idea to be in a group of people and make noises deter animals away from you. There are coyotes and are common in the desert. Would be a good idea to have food stored maybe in a container to be safe from them. There are many kinds or snakes and be aware of rattlesnakes and maybe scorpions. Give them plenty of space to avoid provoking them. Have a canoe or kayak to paddle around and look at the scenery and enjoy yourself. Wear a life jacket for safety purposes. You will need a boat equipped for water skiing if you’re wanting to water ski. Would be a good idea to bring your own water skis and maybe there is a place to rent water skis at the lake. Lake Powell is a large are of water and is ideal for water activities and boating. There are marinas where you can rent a boat if you don’t have your own. You can go sail boating or jet skiing. Stand up paddleboarding and wind sailing are popular activities. Paddle boating is a great way to explore the lakes more secluded areas. Paddleboarding rentals are available also. You can rent a houseboat and is popular at the lake. House boats come equipped with living quarters, kitchen facilities and often even water slides. They provide a unique way to explore the lake and attractions in the comforts of home. You can also consider taking a scenic guided cruise. These tours offer insights to the area’s geology, natural beauty and history. Can go scuba diving and snorkeling. There may be permits or permissions required for diving at Lake Powell. Depending on the location you may need to obtain a permit. May need to have a diving license at some places. To obtain getting a license someone would have to take a class and also an instructor for teaching the diving and knowing things that need be known about diving. You can buy your own equipment for diving and there could possibly be a place to rent at the lake. Diving near the canyon walls can provide a perspective about rock formations and geological features. Some areas of the lake have submerged shipwrecks and structures before the Glen Canyon Dam was constructed. The wrecks can be interesting to explore. Bring your fishing poles as there are many species of fish to be caught at the lake. Can fish from a boat or from along the shore. There are several fishing species such as smallmouth and largemouth bass, striped bass, walleye, crappie, green sunfish, channel catfish, and bluegill to be caught fishing at the lake. Take your catch back to the campsite and have a cookout over the campfire or grill for dinner. Wash your dishes in a couple containers, one with soapy water and the other with rinse water. washing your dishes cuts the smell of food and you have clean dishes. There are many species of animals in the woods that can smell your food from a distance and come to your campsite hungry. Try not to leave food out while away from the camp or at night when people are sleeping. Storing your food in a vehicle helps keep food away from the animals. Lay out in the sun on hot summer days and get a suntan and then take a dip in the water to cool off. Sometimes the water at a lake feels warmer to swim in at night. Have an innertube or raft to play around in the water or to just relax. Always be cautious about swimming in natural bodies of water and be aware of any posted guidelines. The Wahweap swim beach offers a sandy shoreline where the kids can play in the sand. The children can build sandcastles or design anything on the beach. Have a small shovel or bucket handy. There are activities such as corn hole, ring toss, and horseshoes. Play board games, monopoly, chess, or modern games like catan ticket to ride. Throw around a football or frisbee. Play catch with a ball and glove. Groups of people can play softball or baseball. There are playgrounds at the location for the children to play on. They can play laser tag or hide and seek at night. Have a telescope to look at the stars and constellations. Skip stones on a river or lake. Can have a picnic on a blanket or at the picnic table. Take long walks on a path or trail and look at the scenery. Lay on a hammock to relax and maybe read a book. Groups of people can play volleyball or soccer. Prepare an assortment of easy to eat foods that don’t require utensil use. Sandwiches, salads, fruits, and finger foods are great options. Don’t forget to bring drinks or refreshing water. Have sunscreen, hats, and glasses to protect yourself from the sun’s rays. Pet Policy- Pets must be on a leash no longer than 6 feet and never left unattended at any time. Pet owners are responsible to clean up after their pets. Have a trash bag and dispose properly. Pets must not disturb other campers with barking or aggressive behavior.
