Then you may have found the place you have been wanting to visit. Review things to bring along with you so you don’t forget anything. At Hugo Lake, is a 13,250-acre lake. The park offers several sites with different amenities including basic sites with no hook-ups, and sites with both water and electric hook-ups. Some sights may have sewer hook connections. Locate a place to set up your campsite. Build a campfire and pitch your tent on flat land. Have a cooler with food and beverages kept chilled. An Rv-camper with a generator in case there are no power hook-ups available. Can maybe rent a cabin and they could be lodging in the area. Some sights may have fire rings, grills and picnic tables, for your convenience. Has restrooms, showers, picnic areas, playgrounds and boat ramps. Visitors can enjoy swimming, boating, hiking, birdwatching and nature exploration. The lake is located in southeastern Oklahoma, the recreation destination offers family fun, boating, abundant fishing opportunities and spectacular sunsets. You may want to explore nearby attractions such as the Endangered Ark Foundation, which is a sanctuary for Asian elephants. Could visit the Frisco Depot Museum, showcasing the history of the railroad. There are several trails you can go hiking on in the area. Have a pair of boots or sneakers with good cushion soles. Canteen with cold water to drink along the way during your Tyrail hiking. There are activities such as mountain bike riding, ATV, horseback riding, walking and jogging that are popular. There may not be cell phone activity available in some areas. Have a set of walkie talkies as a substitute to communicate with others in your camping group. Insect spray for those nasty mosquitoes. campfires smoke helps keep flying insects away from your camp. Have a first aid kit in case ever needed. There are canoes, kayaks, and rowboats that someone can paddle around the lake and look at the scenery. Wear life jackets for safety purposes. Paddle boarding and wind sailing are lots of fun. Water skiing and jet skiing ate popular. That provides a thrilling and fast paced experience on the water. Kiteboarding or kitesurfing are similar to wind surfing but uses a large kite to harness the winds power for propulsion. Scuba diving and snorkeling diving allows participants to explore deeper water underwater environments using self-contained underwater breathing apparatus (SCUBA) equipment. Bring your fishing poles and there are many species of fish to be caught. Can fish from a boat or from along the shore. There are bluegill, carp, channel catfish, crappie, largemouth bass, northern pike, rock bass, sunfish, trout, and yellow perch. Take your catch back to the campsite and have a cookout over the campfire or grill for dinner. Wash your dishes in a couple containers, one with soapy water and the other with rinse water. Washing your dishes cuts the smell of food and you have clean dishes. Try not to leave food out while your away from the campsite or at night when people are sleeping. There are many animals in the woods that can smell food from a distance and come to your campsite hungry. Storing food in a vehicle helps keep food away from animals. Lay out in the sun on hot summer days and get a suntan and then take a dip in the water to cool off. Take a swim at night and the water feels warmer. Relax on a beach towel or comfortable chair. Have an innertube or raft and play around in the water or just relax. Could go seashell hunting and look for beautiful seashells along the shore. Lay on a hammock to relax and maybe read a book. Use your creativity building sandcastles and sculptures using buckets and shovels. Groups of people can play volleyball. The sandy surface adds an extra challenge to the game. Can play beach cricket and can be fun and relaxed way to spend time on the beach. Don’t forget to bring sunscreen, hats, and sunglasses to protect from the sun’s rays. There are activities such as corn hole, ring toss, and horseshoes. Can play board games or cards. Throw around a football or frisbee. Play catch with a ball and glove. Flying kites are lots of fun. Groups of people can play softball or baseball. Have a picnic on a blanket or at the picnic table. Have a picnic basket with an assortment of easy to eat foods. Sandwiches fruit, salads, and finger foods are great options. Have deserts and snacks like cookies and brownies. Keep a cooler with chilled drinks and stay hydrated throughout the day. Don’t forget to pack drinks and water. Set the mood with background music and bring a portable speaker. Take long walks on paths or trails and enjoy the scenery and appreciate the outdoors. Bring trash bags to clean up after your picnic and leave the area as you found it. Pet Policy- Pets must be on a leash no longer than six feet. Please clean up after your pets. Pets may not be walked through non pet areas at the campground unless it is designated as a pet- camper travel route. Pets are prohibited in swimming areas, inside buildings, non- pet overnight areas any area designated as an area closed to pets. Pets must be physically Controlled and attended at all times and on a leash, caged, or crated. These are activities you can have at the lake and there is more.
