Canyon Lake AZ Camping Vacation
UncategorizedGreetings! I’m Jeff and this is my camping site. I like the outdoors and to camp at new locations.jeff@mycampingvacationsites.com 16802 N.E. Highway 88 Tortilla Flat, AZ 85219 (480) 288-9233 Looking for a place to take a vacation away from your everyday usual things. Then you may have just found the place that you have been looking to spend some time at. Review things to bring along so you don’t forget anything. Canyon Lake has 45 campsites along the shoreline of the lake is located in a beautiful high-desert area about an hour drive from phoenix AZ. There are 36 camp[sites with water & electric hook-ups and 9 tent only campsites. Campground amenities include water, flush toilets and showers. There isn’t a dump station, but you can pay for a pump out. There’s also a full service marina (fuel, slip rentals, bait and tackle) restaurant, large and grass/picnic area. The RV-sites can have one extra vehicle besides the RV. Tent sites can only have 1 vehicle, Each campsite also has a table, fire ring and grate. Locate a place to set up your campsite. build your campfire and pitch your tent on a flat ground. Have a cooler with food and beverages kept chilled. An RV-camper with a generator in case there are no power hook-ups available. Can maybe rent a cabin and there may be lodging in the area. There are a few hiking trails someone can choose from. Have sneakers or boots with good cushion soles for any trail hiking. Canteen with cold water to drink along the way hiking. Can go backpacking and set up a temporary over night campsite and continue your trail hiking the next day. Mountain bike riding, ATV, horseback riding, walking and jogging are popular. There may not be cell phone connection available in some areas. Walkie talkies would be a good substitute for campers to communicate with each other. Have a camera to take awesome photos of the scenery to look at later. Insect repellent for those nasty mosquitoes. Campfires smoke helps keep flying insects away from your campsite. Have a first aid kit in case ever needed. Have a canoe or kayak to paddle around the lake and look at the scenery. Wear a life jacket for safety purposes. Scuba diving and snorkeling are lots of fun. Water ski and wind sailing are popular activities. Bring your fishing poles as there are many species of fish in the lake to be caught. Can fish from a boat or from along the shore. There are largemouth bass, small mouth bass, Walleye, Yellow bass, rainbow trout, sunfish, flathead and channel catfish. Take your catch back to the campsite and have a cookout over the campfire grill for dinner. Wash your dishes in a couple containers, one with soapy water and the other with rinse water. Washing your dishes cuts the smell of food and you have clean dishes. There are many species of animals that can smell your food from a distance and come to your camp hungry. Try not to leave your food out while your away from the campsite or when people are sleeping. Storing your food in a vehicle helps keep animals away from your food.Lay out in the sun on hot summer days and get a suntan and then take a dip in the water to cool off. Have a swim at night and the water feels warmer. Have an innertube or raft and play around in the water or just relax. Can go boating downstream on a river and there are strong currents and rapids that can tip over your boat. The water might be cold at this location. Some people like swimming at Canyon Lake during the summer months. Always be cautious about swimming in natural bodies of water, and be aware of any posted guidelines. There are many activities such as corn hole, ring toss, and horseshoes. Play a board game or cards. Throw around a football or frisbee. Play catch with a ball and glove. There may be a miniature golf course at the park for people to play on. Groups of campers can play baseball or softball. There are playgrounds at the park for the kids to play on. They can play laser tag and hide and seek at night. Have a telescope to look at the stars and constellations. They can skip stones on the river or lake. Kids can build sand castles in the sand at the beach or anywhere there is sand. Have a picnic on a blanket or at a picnic table. Take long walks on paths or trails and look at the scenery. Lay on a hammock to relax and maybe read a book. Groups of campers can play volleyball or soccer. Prepare an assortment of easy to eat foods that don’t require any utesil use. Sandwiches, salads, fruits, and finger foods are a great option. Don’t forget to pack some drinks and refreshing water. Don’t forget to have sunscreen, hats, sunglasses to protect yourself from the suns ray’s Pet policy- Pets are allowed and should be kept on a leash no longer than 6 feet. Dogs should not be left unattended at any time. Please clean up after your dog. Have a bag to dispose of the waste. These are some of the activities you can have at the park and there is more.
