Verdon Gorge, France Vacation

OIP 1 3Verdon Gorge, often dubbed the ‘Grand Canyon of Europe,’ is a breathtaking sight. Nestled in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence region of southeastern France, this stunning expanse of limestone cliffs and turquoise waters offers an outdoor paradise for adventure enthusiasts and nature lovers alike.                                                                                                                                                          https://youtu.be/EAaatisFlco

Camping here puts you right in the heart of nature. Some of the best spots are campgrounds like Domaine Chasteuil Provençal, offering a blend of natural beauty and essential amenities. Don’t forget to pack your essentials and maybe a few comforts from home, as there’s nothing quite like waking up to the misty views of the gorge right outside your tent. There may not be cell phone connection in some areas and a set of walkie talkies could be a good substitute to talk to others in your travel group.                                                                                                Trail Hiking

OIP 2 3Hiking is another fantastic way to take it all in. The Sentier de l’Imbut is a popular trail that’s challenging enough to get your heart pumping, yet scenic enough to keep you captivated. For those who prefer a less strenuous route, paths like Blanc-Martel offer magnificent views too. Along these trails, you’ll possibly encounter local wildlife, from the chirping birds to the occasional darting lizard. First aid kit would be a good to have trail hiking and if someone gets hurt a hospital may be a few hours away and may be good to have something for the mean time until getting to a doctor.                                                                                                 As an Ama associate, I earn from qualified purchases-https://amzn.to/4hx5vBJ                                                                                     Canoeing on a river

6 throughts on "Verdon Gorge, France Vacation"

  1. I just finished reading about Verdon Gorge, and I have to say I’m utterly inspired! The stunning limestone cliffs, turquoise waters, and rich local culture have me daydreaming about taking a tour of this incredible place. Even though I wouldn’t call myself a typical tourist, I’d love to explore Verdon Gorge firsthand and create unforgettable memories. My partner usually captures our adventures in style, but I’m itching to experience a guided tour that reveals all the hidden gems of the region. Has anyone ventured here recently? I’d love to hear your recommendations and tips!

    Great job again!

    1. Hello! No, I haven’t been to this location myself. I like the scenery and having a vacation travel website I’m amazed at some locations such as this and maybe someday might actually get to this location. It’s on my list of places I’d like to see. Having no cell phone connection at some places and the idea of a walkie talkie set is something I have mentioned about communicating with others in a travel group.

  2. As an avid hiker I couldn’t go past your article. Many years ago I did a hiking trip through Provence in France. What a wonderful experience and your article had memories of meals at local restaurants and walking through lavender fields, rushing back to me. I enjoy getting off the main tourist attractions and into nature. It’s even more enjoyable when it’s in a different country and you see different flora and fauna for what you are used to back home. This in my mind is what international travel is about.

    1. Hello! This location has lots to offer and incredible scenery. A different country to be at has other plant and animal species and very memorable for those who have traveled. I was at Egypt on the Nile River and that was an adventure for me and very memorable stopping at ancient ruin locations each day on the boat cruise. Then a couple days at the pyramids and was an awesome experience and many sights during that vacation. I did take 200 photos on that.

  3. -Sounds like another good place to go on a vacation; nice work.

-If it’s located in Southeastern France, then it’s gotta be worth exploring at some point in this life.

-You mentioned hiking and canoeing on a river; very typical activities to do on a vacation such as this one.

-I’d say hiking has my attention a bit more this time since it looks so steep, which “ups the ante,” so to speak.

-I can only imagine what the hotels and/or restaurants are like in that entire country, as well.

-I’ll consider a helicopter tour, as you said; but no promises at this time.

    -Best,

    ALEJANDRO G.

    1. Hello! This is a good place for a vacation and lots of activities, such as hiking and a helicopter Tour. I thought about visiting this location myself at some time. I was at Egypt years ago and was on a cruise on the Nile River and stopped at ancient ruins and then to the pyramids a couple days and was a very good vacation. My favorite place that I want to visit is called Itaimbezinho Valley, Brazil. Has steep cliffs in a rainforest and waterfalls and much more. Another location that I have been looking at is called Iguazu Falls, Brazil which has awesome waterfalls. I have those three as articles and each place has amazing scenery. If you get a chance check all three locations.
