Buffalo National River AR Camping Vacation
UncategorizedGreetings! I’m Jeff and this is my camping site. I like the outdoors and to camp at new locations. jeff@mycampingvacationsites.com 402 N. Walnut Suite 136 Harrison, AR 72601 (870) 365-2700 Looking for a place to take a vacation get away from the everyday things. Review things to bring along so you don’t forget anything. Locate a place to build a campsite. Build a campfire and pitch your tent. Have a cooler with food and beverages kept cold. RV- Camper with a generator in case there are no power connections available. Can rent a cabin and there is lodging in the area. There are many hiking trails along Buffalo National River. Some are short and others are long trails. Plan ahead for hiking and you could go backpacking for a night and continue hiking the next day. Wear hiking boots or sneakers with good cushion soles. Have a canteen with cold water to drink. Mountain bike riding, horseback riding, walking and jogging are popular activities. There may not be any cell phone connection available in some areas. Set of walkie talkies would be a good substitute for people in your camping group. Have a camera to take awesome photos of the scenery to look at later. Insect repellent for those nasty mosquitoes. Campfire smoke helps keep away flying insects from your camp.
Canoes, kayaks, to paddle around on the lake or river to look at scenery and enjoy the day. Boating on a river has strong currents and rapids that can tip over your boat. Wear a life jacket for safety purposes. Scuba diving and snorkeling are fun. Water ski and wind sailing are popular. Bring your fishing poles as the are many species of fish to be caught. There are small mouth bass anglers, rainbow and brown trout. Also has other introduced game species to the river. A license is required for people 16 years or older. Take your catch back to your campsite to have a cookout over the campfire or grill for dinner. Wash your dishes in a couple containers, one with soapy water and the other with rinse water. The smell of food brings animals to your camp that are hungry. Washing the dishes cuts back on the smell of food and you have clean dishes. Try not to leave food out while away from the camp or at night while people are sleeping.
Lay out in the sun on hot summer days and get a suntan and then take a dip in the water to cool off. Swim at night and the water feels warmer. Have an innertube or raft to play around in the water or just relax. There are many activities such as corn hole, ring toss, and horseshoes. Play board games or cards. Throw around a football or frisbee. Play catch with a ball and glove. Groups of people can play volleyball or soccer. There are playgrounds at the park for the kids to play on. They can play laser tag and hide a seek at night. Have a telescope to look at the stars and constellations. Skip stones on the water. Pet Policy- Pets are allowed in all campgrounds, on the river, and on the gravel bars, but must be under physical control at all times. Service animals must be under physical restraint at all times. Please clean up after your pets. These are some of the activities and there are more. Leave a message if you like in the comment section at the bottom. Click on my e-mail and leave a message also.
