Bear Canyon AZ Lake Camping Vacation
UncategorizedGreetings! I’m Jeff and this is my camping site. I like the outdoors and to camp at new locations. jeff@mycampingvacationsites.com Black Mesa Ranger Station 2748 East Az 260 Overgaard, Arizona 86933 (928) 333-4301 Looking for a place to take a vacation away from the everyday things. Review things to bring along so you don’t forget anything. This is a canyon bound lake that is narrow but when full the depth is 50 feet. The water surface is about 60 acres. The camping is considered undeveloped. Locate a place to set up your campsite. Build a campfire and pitch your tent. Have a cooler with food and beverages kept cold. Rv-Camper with a generator in case the are no power hook ups available. There may be cabins and lodging in the area. There are a few hiking trails, and some are short, and others are longer. Wear good boots or sneakers with good cushion soles. Have a canteen with cold water to drink on your trail hiking. Can go backpacking and camp overnight and continue your hike the next day. There are activities such as Mountain bike riding, horseback riding, walking, and jogging on the trails. There may not be cell phone connection available in some areas. Set of walkie talkie would be a good substitute for a camping group to communicate with each other. Insect repellent for those nasty mosquitoes. Campfires smoke helps keep flying insects away. Have a camera to take awesome photos of the scenery to look at later. Canoes, Kayaks, to paddle around the lake and look at the scenery. Boating on a river has strong currents and rapids that can tip over your boat. Wear life jackets for safety purposes. Scuba diving and snorkeling are lots of fun. Wind sailing and water ski are popular activities. Electric motorboats are only allowed on this lake. Bring your fishing poles as there are many species of fish to be caught. The lake has sunfish, catfish, rainbow trout, tiger trout, cutthroat trout, and brown trout. Can fish from a boat or along the shore. Have a cookout after back at the campsite at the campfire or grill for dinner. There are many species of animals in the woods that can smell food and come to your camp hungry. Wash your dishes in a couple containers, one with soapy water and the other with rinse water. Washing your dishes cuts the smell and you have clean dishes. Try not to leave food out while away from the campsite or when people are sleeping. Lay out in the sun on hot summer days and get a suntan and then take a dip in the water to cool off. Have an innertube or a raft to have fun or to just relax. Can float down a river on the current and enjoy the day. There are many activities such as corn hole, ring toss, and horseshoes. Play board games or cards. Throw around a football or frisbee. Play catch with a ball and glove. There are playgrounds at the park for the kids to play on. They can play laser tag and hide and seek at night. Have a telescope to look at the stars and constellations. Skip stones on a lake or river.
There are picnic tables at the park and also can sit on a blanket and have a picnic. Take long walks in the woods on paths or trails and look at the scenery. Lay on a hammock to relax and read a book. Groups of people can play volleyball or soccer. No fires will be permitted when fire restrictions are in effect. Pet Policy- Pets must be restrained on a leash no longer than 6 feet. Please clean up after your pets. May be a good idea to have proof of your pet’s vaccination. These are some of the activities you can have at the park and there is much more. Leave a message if you like. Can click on my e-mail to leave a message also.
