Luna Lake AZ Camping Vacation
UncategorizedGreetings! I’m Jeff and this is my camping site. I like the outdoors and new locations to camp at. jeff@mycampingvacationsites.com Apache Sitgreaves National Forest 42976 U.S. 180 Alpine, AZ (928) 537-8888 and (928) 339-5000 Looking for a place to take a vacation away from your everyday things. This could be the place you would like to be at to get away for a camping trip. Review things to bring so you don’t forget anything. Locate a place to set up your camp site. Build a campfire and pitch your tent. Have a cooler with food and beverages kept cold. An Rv- Camper with a generator in case there are no power outlets available. Can rent a cabin and there is lodging in the area. Luna lake is in the Apache Sitgreaves National Forest at Arizona. Located not far from the city of Alpine. Has a couple of small trails and maybe some longer nearby. Have boots or sneakers with good cushion soles for any hiking. Canteen with cold water to drink anywhere in the park. Mountain bike riding, horseback riding, walking and jogging are popular activities on trails. There may not be any cell phone connection available in some areas. Set of walkie talkies would be a good substitute for groups of campers to communicate with each other. Insect repellent for those nasty mosquitoes. Campfires smoke helps keep flying insects away from your campsite. Have a camera to take awesome photos to look at later. Small first aid kit in case anyone gets hurt. Canoe or a kayak to paddle around the lake and enjoy the scenery. Scuba diving and snorkeling are popular. Water ski and wind sailing are lots of fun. Wear a life jacket for safety purposes. Bring your fishing poles as there are lots of fish to be caught. Can fish from a boat or from along the shore. There’s excellent rainbow and cutthroat trout with other fish species to be caught. Have a cookout back at the camp over the campfire or grill for dinner. Wash your dishes in a couple containers, one with soapy water and the other with rinse water. There are many animals that can smell your food from a distance and may come to your camp hungry. Washing your dishes cuts the smell and you have clean dishes. Try not to leave your food out while away from the campsite or a night while people are sleeping. Someone could store their food in a car. Lay out in the sun on hot summer days and get a suntan and then take a dip in the water to cool off. Take a swim at night and the water feels warmer. Have an innertube or raft to play around in the water. Can float along a river on the current floating downstream and look at the scenery and enjoy the day. There are many activities such as corn hole, ring toss, and horseshoes. Play a board game or cards. Throw around a football or frisbee. Play catch with a ball and glove. There are playgrounds at the park for the kids to play on. They can play laser tag and hide and seek at night. Have a telescope to look at the stars and constellations. Have a picnic on a blanket or at a picnic table. Take long walks on paths to look at the scenery. Lay on a hammock to relax and read a book. Groups of people can play volleyball or soccer. Pet Policy- Dogs are allowed at Luna Lake campground, but they must be kept on a leash no longer than 6 feet outside your vehicle. For more information on pet restrictions, please call (928) 337-8888. These are some of the activities you can have and there is much more. Leave a message at the bottom comment section if you like. For those interested in the outdoors, this would be a useful site. The author is knowledgeable about the subject. He offers good suggestions about how to have a positive experience if you go camping. Well written. Discusses a specific camping site he’s been to and would recommend. Are there different camping sites you would recommend? Discusses cons to this camping site, such as lack of cell phone access.
I’ve been considering taking a camping vacation to Luna Lake in Arizona, and I’m curious to know if anyone has any experience with the area. From what I’ve read, it seems like a beautiful destination with plenty of opportunities for hiking, fishing, and other outdoor activities. However, I’m also a bit hesitant about the potential crowds during peak season and the availability of campsites. Will you have any recommendations or tips for making the most of a camping trip to Luna Lake?”
Hello! I would suggest calling the area of anywhere you want to camp at for information at regular or peak season. I would look into renting a canoe or kayak or bring my own depending on if I was wanting to bring things with me or just rent a boat considering finances and so on about the camping location. I’d definite contact them about peak season or just for basic info. This location looks to be a good idea about hiking and sight see. Has a beach for swimming and other things. Looks like a good location for an all-around vacation experience as well.
Luna lake in Arizona looks like a beautiful area for a camping holiday. With so many activities, from hiking to kayaking to just relaxing next to the edge of the water, there are lots for all the family members to do and enjoy.
You mention the fishing and that there is lots of rainbow trout and cutthroat trout in the lake. Trout is my favourite, so I will definitely be fishing during my camping trip. It would be helpful to know if a permit is required for fishing in the lake, and if so, how much it costs and where one can obtain a fishing permit from.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge about Luna lake.
hello! Thanks for responding. The location would be a good place for a vacation. I checked about the location, and it costs $16.00 per day to park. I’d imagine a fishing license is mandatory to go fishing. There are several locations to get a fishing license from in that state. Being if you’re from out of state I’m not knowing if the cost would be more than the normal rate. I tried to find out more information on that particular thing and even called them and the guy looked it up and he did not know or have any information. I would bring extra money for to get a license if needed. Can maybe order one or more online and would need to fill out a form.
