;;Tapaz NV Lake Camping Vacation
UncategorizedGreetings! I’m Jeff and this is my camping site. I like the outdoors and to camp at new locations. jeff@mycampingvacationsites.com 3700 Topaz Park Rd. Gardnerville (750) 226-3343
Looking for a place to take a vacation away from your everyday things. Then you may have found the correct place. Review things to bring along so you don’t forget anything. There are 15 reservable RV campsites available with water and power hook-ups, 26 reservable dry campsites and primitive camping in undeveloped areas. Locate a place to set up your camping site. Build a campfire and pitch your tent on flat land. A cooler with food and beverages kept cold. Have an RV-Camper with a generator in case there are no power hook-ups available. Can maybe rent a cabin and there might be lodging in the area. There are 2 scenic trails in the Tapaz area. Enjoy hand curated trail maps, along with reviews and photos from nature lovers like you. Have a pair of boots or sneakers with good, cushioned soles for your trail hiking. Canteen with cold water to drink along your trail hiking. People who go backpacking can set up camp for the night and continue the next day. Mountain bike riding, ATV, Horseback riding, walking, and jogging are popular activities on the trails. There may not be cell phone connection available in some areas. Set of walkie talkies would be a good substitute for a group of campers to communicate with each other. Have a camera to take awesome photos of the scenery to look at later. Insect repellent for those nasty mosquitoes. Campfires smoke helps keep flying insects away from your campsite. Have a first aid kit in case ever needed. Have a canoe or a kayak to paddle around and look at the scenery and enjoy the day. Wear a life jacket for safety purposes. Water ski and wind sailing are popular activities. Scuba diving and snorkeling are lots of fun. Boating on a river has strong currents and rapids that can tip over your boat. Bring your fishing poles and there are many species of fish to catch. Can fish from a boat or from along the shore. Its one of the region’s best small and largemouth bass fishing destinations. Seasonally stocked Topaz Lake has a variety of trout, including rainbow trout, Bowcutt trout, brown trout and sometimes tiger trout. Take your catch back to the campsite to have a cookout over the campfire or grill for dinner. Have two containers, one with soapy water and the other with rinse water. There are many species of animals in the woods that can smell your food from a distance and come to your camp hungry. Washing the dishes helps cut the smell of food and you have clean dishes. Try not to leave your food out while away from the campsite or when people are sleeping. Storing food in a vehicle helps keep food away from the animals. Lay out in the sun on hot summer days and get a suntan and then take a dip in the water to cool off. Take a swim at night and the water feels warmer. Have an innertube or raft and play around in the water or just relax. There are many activities such as corn hole, ring toss, and horseshoes. Play a board game or cards. Throw around a football or frisbee. Play catch with a ball and glove. Have a picnic on a blanket or at the picnic table. Take long walks on trails or paths and look at the scenery. Lay on a hammock to relax and maybe read a book. Groups of campers can play volleyball or soccer. There are playgrounds for the kids and they can play laser tag or hide and seek at night. Have a telescope to look at the stars and constellations. Skip stones in the lake or in a river. Pet Policy- Dogs are permitted on a leash no longer than 6 feet and must not be left unattended. Please clean up after your pet. These are some of the activities you can have at the park and there is more. Leave a message at the bottom comment section if you like. Most of my camping experience was done with a tent. I have thought in recent years an RV would be convenient. It would give you the comforts of home and still enjoy the beauty of nature around you.
I have never been much of a fisherman, and personally I like to keep my feet on dry land. However, I do enjoy a good piece of fried fish. Freshly caught is even better. Make sure you have your life jacket on, we don’t need any accidents to ruin a great vacation!
Hello! Good to hear from you. Most of my camping ever done was in a tent also. I have camped in an RV a couple time. The comforts of home to bring with you in some sort of camper. It’s convenient. I even put in some of my articles about a generator in case no power hook ups available. I thought about getting a solar generator myself and the good thing about that is all someone needs is sunlight to power that up. So not any buying gas or anything else about a generator except once in a while a new solar panel. I like to have fish for dinner or maybe even have some chicken for a grill. Catching the fish is an adventure sometimes.

Hi Jeff, a pleasure to read your website and to meet a fellow camping and outdoor enthusiast. I love the walkie talkie idea. It is so often the case that there is no mobile phone reception out when camping in the nature! Great tips all round and just reading your site makes me want to abandon my desk and head off!
