;;White Horse Lake AZ Camping Vacation
Uncategorized“”Greetings! I’m Jeff and this is my camping site. I like the outdoors and to camp at new locations. jeff@mycampingvacationsites.com Kaibab National Forest Williams AZ 86046 (928) 699-1239 Looking for a place to take a vacation away from your everyday things. Then you may have found the location you were looking for. Review things to bring along with you so you don’t forget anything. At White Horse Lake, locate a place to set up your camping site. Build a campfire and pitch your tent on flat land. Have a cooler with food and beverages kept chilled. An RV-camper with a generator in case there are no power hook-ups available. There may be cabins for rent and lodging in the area. There are more than 90 single unit campsites with tables, campfire rings, grills and tent pads. There is also a large site that can accommodate up to 60 visitors, several double sites, tent only sites and accessible sites. Tents, trailers, and motor homes up to 38 feet long can be accommodated. There are many amenities offered to campers, including water faucets, a small boat ramp, restrooms, and trash bins. There are 22 wheelchair accessible campsites. There are portable water hydrants located throughout the park. Filling water tanks in mobile homes and RV’s not allowed due to limit supply. Portable water supply for drinking water only. White Horse Lake is an extremely popular fishing lake, 19 miles southeast of Williams, in northern Arizona. The lakes campground is conveniently located an hour from Grand Canyon National Park’s south rim and surrounded by the exciting and diverse scenery of Kaibab National Forest. A number of forest attractions nearby, including scenic overlooks, dams and hiking and mountain bike trails, White horse also offers a place to enjoy beverages and snacks provided by the snack bar. There are several trails you can go hiking on during your stay at the park. Have boots or sneakers with good, cushioned soles to wear on any hiking adventures. Canteen with cold water to drink along the way. Can go backpacking and set up a temporary camp and continue your trail hiking the next day. Mountain bike riding, ATV, horseback riding, walking and jogging are popular. There may not be any cell phone connections available in some areas. Set of walkie talkies would be a good substitute for campers to communicate with each other. Have a good camera to take awesome photos of the scenery to look at later. Insect repellent for those nasty mosquitoes. Campfires smoke helps keep flying insects away from your campsite. Have a first aid kit if ever needed. Have a canoe or kayak to paddle around and look at the scenery and enjoy the day. Wear life jackets for safety purposes. Water ski and wind sailing are lots of fun. Scuba diving and snorkeling are a blast. Can go boating on rivers and the currents are strong and rapids can tip over your boat. Bring your fishing poles as there are several species of fish to be caught. Can fish from a boat or from along the shore. Whitehorse lake is an extremely popular fishing lake and is routinely stocked, anglers seek out rainbow trout, brown trout, and channel catfish. Please refer to Arizona game and fish department for current fishing regulations and permits for stocking information and schedules at www.azgfd.com/fishing. Take your catch back to the campsite to have a cookout over the campfire or grill for dinner. Wash your dishes in a couple containers, one with soapy water and the other with rinse water. Washing the dishes cuts the smell of food and you have clean dishes. There are several species of animals in the forest that can smell the food from a distance and come to your camp hungry. Try not to leave food out while away from your campsite or at night when people are sleeping. Would be a good idea to store your food in a vehicle to keep away from the animals. Lay out in the sun on hot summer days and get a suntan and then take a dip in the water to cool off. Can take a dip in the water at night and the water feels warmer. Have and innertube or raft to play around in the water or to just relax. Can float on a river downstream and flow with the current and enjoy the day. There are activities such as corn hole, ring toss, and horseshoes. Can play a board game. Throw around a football or frisbee. Play catch with a ball and glove. There may be a miniature golf course for people to play on. There are playgrounds at the park for the kids to play on. They can play laser tag and hide and seek at night. Have a telescope to look at the stars and constellations. Can skip stones on a lake or river. Have a picnic on a blanket or at the picnic tables. Take long walks on paths or trails and look at the scenery. Have a hammock to relax on and maybe read a book. Groups of people can play volleyball or soccer. Pet Policy- Dogs are allowed at Whitehorse Lake Campground, but they must be kept on a leash no longer than 6 feet when outside your vehicle. Pets must be restrained at all times. For more information on pet restrictions please call (928) 635-5600. These are some of the activities you can have at the campsite. Leave a message if you like at the bottom comment section. Hello! Thanks for responding and good to hear from you.
I love your pictures of this beautiful park! I wish I lived closer to Arizona – and almost envy you being able to visit these places in the Southwest – I live on the Canadian prairies!
This one sounds like a super-relaxing vacation spot where you can either relax or do all sorts of interesting things like fishing, kayaking, hiking, biking, horseback riding – and more! It’s remote – yet has quite a number of amenities for the camper that doesn’t want to be totally removed from services. That would be me! I’d have to get used to the limited cell signal, but maybe it would be good for me not to be so glued to my phone for a few days.
Too bad it’s 1500+ miles to get there! But great description – definitely makes me want to visit.
Hello! would be a good place to take a vacation.
