;;Jubilee Lake OR Camping Vacation
UncategorizedGreeting! I’m Jeff and this is my camping site. I like the outdoors and to camp at new locations. jeff@mycampingvacationsites.com 72510 Coyote Road Pendleton, OR 97801 (541) 728-3716 Looking for a place to take a vacation away from your usual everyday things. Then you may have found the location of the place you have been looking for. Review things to bring along so you don’t forget anything. Andy’s market would be a good place to stop off at for supplies if needed. At Jubilee Lake is a sizeable campsite even when there are a lot of people there feels spacious. Campsites are nicely spaced apart and there are a great mix of tent, small Rv and a few for larger Rv ‘s. The lake is pretty and has a lot of fish in it. There’s a fun rope swing off the round the lake trail. There is little to no cell phone access near the lake. There are maintained bathroom facilities and water faucets safe for drinking during the summer months only. Bring some of your own toilet paper just in case is not a bad idea. The Jubilee Lake area is a great place to escape valley heat and provide a change of scenery. Adventurers can hike, camp, and embark on a water sport or two. This area checks off many activities available in the Umatilla National Forest. It is a great spot for a day trip. If you have time, there is plenty to do in this part of the forest. There are 53 campsites available (48 tent Trailor sites and five tent only sites) 37 picnic sites and portable water through October 1. Regarding larger Rv’s, the sites were not originally designed for today’s longer trailers. There are pull through sites that are likely the best option. Locate a place to set up your campsite. Build your campfire and pitch a tent on a flat piece of ground. Have a cooler with food and beverages kept cold. Have a generator in case there are no power hook-ups available. Can possibly rent a cabin and there may be lodging in the area. There are a few hiking trails in the area that people can hike on. Have a pair of boots or sneakers with good cushion soles for any trail hiking. Canteen with cold water to drink along the way on your days hike. Any long trails someone can bring a backpack and set up a temporary overnight camp and continue trail hiking the next day. Mountain bike riding, ATV, horseback riding, walking and jogging are popular. The lake shore can get crowded in the summertime on weekends. The majority of visitors hang close to the west side of the lake. Setting up picnic spots close to the parking lot and boat launch. The trail around the lake offers serene moments with peaceful views of the lake and its surrounding forest, once on the east side. For the more adventurous person, there’s a rope swing just past the Mottet Creek spillway and dam coming from the south end of the lake. Those approaching from the north will wind up at the rope swing after the second mile. It’s a fun place to hang out for a while especially if you have older kids. Would be a good idea to have them wear swimming clothes under your clothes or bring along bathing suits and pack a few towels. Jubilee campground and its trails, and its surrounding Forrest are located on land that holds an important place in the traditions of the Cayuse, Umatilla and Walla Walla tribes. The Blue Mountains including this area, are used by the confederated tribes of the Umatilla tribes to support their culture and way of life. There is another small rockier trail that splits off to the east near the rope swing. This unmarked trail leads to a high meadow with expansive view of the Wallowa Mountains off to the east. If your there in early June or July, the wildflowers will be on full display. This trail does continue on to connect with Forest Service Roads much further south, it doesn’t loop back around to Jubilee Lake Trail. You can hike out far enough to catch that mountain view and then return back there way you came to reconnect with the main Jubilee Lake Trail. There may not be any cell phone connection available in some areas. Set of walkie talkies would be a good substitute for groups of campers. Have a camera to take awesome photos of the scenery to look at later. Insect repellent for those nasty mosquitoes. Campfires smoke helps keep flying insects away from your campsite. Have a first aid kit in case ever needed. Have a canoe or kayak to paddle around and look at the sights and enjoy the day. Wear a life jacket for safety purposes. Scuba diving and snorkeling are lot’s of fun. Wind sailing and water skiing are very popular. Boating on a river has strong currents and rapids that can tip over your boat. Bring your fishing poles as there are many species of fish to be caught. Can go fishing from a boat or from along the shore. Jubilee lake is an ideal spot for fishing enthusiates. Located on the edge of the Cascade Mountains, the lake is fed by clear streams and creeks that provide a plentiful supply of trout, bass, walleye and other species of fish The lake is open to anglers all year round, but certain areas are designated as closed during specific seasons. During the summer months, the lake is open for catch and release fishing only. Anglers must abide by all applicable state and federal regulations when fishing on jubilee Lake Orgeon. Take your catch back to your campsite and have a cookout over the campfire or grill for dinner. Wash your dioshes in a couple containers, one with soapy water and the other with rinse water. Washing your dishes cuts the smell of food and you have clean dishes. There are many species of animals in the forest that can smell your food from a distance and come to you camp hungry. try not to leave food out while away from the campsite or at night when people are sleeping. Can store food in a vehicle so the animals cant get to your food. Lay out in the sun on hot summer days and get a suntan and then take a dip in the water to cool off. Have a swim at night and the water feels warmer. An innertube or raft to play around in the water or to just relax. Tubing on a river floating downstream along the current to relax and enjoy the day can be lots of fun. There are many activities such as corn hole, ring toss, and horseshoes. Play a board game or cards. Throw around a football or frisbee. Play catch with a ball and glove. Groups of campers can play softball or baseball. There are playgrounds at the park for the kids to play on. They can play laser tag and hide and seek at night. Have a telescope to look at the stars and constellations. Can skip stones on a lake or river. Could maybe have a miniature golf course to play on at the lake. Can have a picnic on a blanket or at the picnic table. Take long walks on paths or trails and look at the scenery and enjoy your day. Lay on a hammock to relax and maybe read a book. Groups of campers can play volleyball or soccer. Pet Policy- Pets are not permitted in the buildings, amenities cabins or caravans. Dogs must be kept on a leash no longer than 6 feet and at all times and not left unattended. Please clean up after your pet. These are some of the activities you can have at the lake and there is more. Leave a message if you like in the comment section at the bottom. Hey Jeff, I am very glad to read another review of a terrific get-away spot this one focusing on the Jubilee Lake, Oregon Camping Vacation.
It’s nice to see that they have such sizable and spacious campsites because no one wants to be packed in really close to other vacationers that you are not familiar with.
Oregon in general is a beautiful place to visit as I can attest from driving through there on my way from Oklahoma to Washington state back in the summer of 2018. There is beautiful countryside everywhere you look up there and I’m sure that Jubilee Lake is not different.
Thanks for the reply. Yes, I have heard and talked to people about Oregon and it is very nice there.
