;;Whitefish Lake MT Camping Vacation
UncategorizedI’m Jeff and this is my camping site. I like the outdoors and to camp at new locations. jeff@mycampingvacationsites.com 1615 West Lake Shore Dr. Whitefish, MT 59937 (406) 862-3991 Looking for a place to take a vacation away from your everyday things. Then you may have just found the location you were looking for. Review things to bring along so you don’t forget anything. At Whitefish Lake has 25 campsites and is located next to the lake in a secluded area. Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers, and RVs (up to 40 feet). One hike and bike campsite are also available. There are white capped mountains and sparkling, green waters will trick even the smartest campers into thinking they’ve come to whitefish Lake for peace and quiet. Then think again, because this state park is all about adventure. Less than a mile away from camp you will find whitefish trail, a perfect path for hiking and biking, and a short drive farther is whitefish Mountain Ski Resort. Plenty of adrenaline for campers and the lake serves as a perfect playground for boating, fishing, and swimming. Campground amenities include drinking water, flush toilets, showers and trash removal. There’s also a boat ramp, boat rentals, and firewood available for purchase. Each campsite has a table, food storage locker, fire ring and grate. Locate a place to set up your campsite. Build a campfire and pitch your tent on flat ground. Have a cooler with food and beverages kept chilled. An Rv-camper with a generator in case there are no power hook ups available. Can maybe rent a cabin and there could be lodging in the area. There are 4 great trails to hike on at Whitefish Lake. Wear boots or sneakers with good cushion soles for any hiking. Have a canteen with cold water to drink along the way on your trail hiking. There is a 17.9-mile trail you can go backpacking on. Can plan a backpacking adventure and set up an overnight camp and continue your hike the next day. Plan your hiking so you have ample time later. Mountain bike riding, ATV, horseback riding, walking and jogging are popular. There may not be cell phone connection available in some areas. Have a set of walkie talkies as a substitute to talk to people in your camping group. Insect repellent for those nasty mosquitoes. Campfires smoke helps keep flying insects away from your campsite. Camera to take awesome photos of the scenery to look at later. First aid kit in case ever needed. Check in time is 2pm for campsites and 3pm for yurts, cabins and Tipis (local time). Checkout time is 1pm for campsites (local park time). Late checkouts may incur additional fees unless prior arrangements have been made with park staff. The maximum of each individually signed or numbered campsite is 8 people. This typically involves a single camping unit, which includes, but not limited to a tent, motor home, camping bus, truck mounted camping shell, pull type camper, or another device and commonly used for sleeping. In the event the site is designated as double site, the site capacity for that site is doubled to allow for 16 people and two camping units. All watercraft entering Montana must be inspected before launch and purchase Vessail AIS Prevention Pass. For more information, please visit cleandraindrymt.com. Quiet hours are enforced 10pm-7am. Campfires are allowed in designated areas. Fireworks are prohibited at all times in the park, no exceptions. Have a canoe or kayak to paddle around and look at the scenery. Wear a life jacket for safety purposes. Water skiing and wind sailing are popular activities. Scuba diving and snorkeling are lots of fun. Bring your fishing poles as there are many species of fish to be caught. Can fish from a boat or from along the shore. Whitefish Lake has a variety of fish species including northern pike, smallmouth bass, yellow perch, walleye, lake trout, and lake sucker. Year-round fishing is popular and ice fishing is most definitely enjoyed on the lake. Guests should be able to pick up a few walleyes each day in the 3–4-pound range and sometimes bigger. Take your catch back to the campsite and have a cookout over the campfire or grill for dinner. Wash your dishes in a couple containers, one with soapy water and the other with rinse water. Washing the dishes cuts the smell of food and you have clean dishes. Try not to leave your food out while away from the campsite or at night when people are sleeping. There are many animal species in the woods that can smell food from a distance and come to your campsite hungry. Storing your food in a vehicle helps keep animals away from your food. Lay out on the beach and get a suntan on a hot summer day and then take a dip in the water to cool off. Take a swim at night and the water feels warmer. Inner tubing and rafting near the shore and playing around or just relaxing. There are many activities such a corn hole, ring toss, and horseshoes. Play board games and cards. Throw around a football or frisbee. Play catch with a ball and glove. Groups of campers can play softball or baseball. Can have a picnic on a blanket or at the picnic table. Take long walks on paths or trails and look at the views. Lay on a hammock to relax and maybe read a book. Groups of campers can play volleyball or soccer. Pet Policy- Dogs must be kept on a leash no longer than 6 feet and not left unattended. Please clean up after your pet. Please check with destination park staff for local restrictions. These are some of the activities that you can have at the park. Leave a comment at the bottom and will get a response. Click on my e-mail to send a message also.
