Morristown, Az 85342 (602) 506-2930 Looking for a place to take a vacation away from your everyday things. Then you may have found the place you would like to visit. Review things to bring along so you don’t forget anything. At Lake Pleasant Arizona usually means 6 months out of the year with temperatures over 100. Has 152 campsites for tents and Rv’s in two areas. It can be brutal so finding a place near the water for activities to stay cool and have fun. Each developed site has water and electricity, armada, table, fire ring and grill. Campground amenities include drinking water, flush toilets, hot showers and a dump station. There’s also a marina, store, laundry, boat ramp, and visitor center. The store sells food, supplies, ice and also firewood. Locate a place to set up your campsite. Build a campfire and pitch your tent on flat land. Have a cooler with food and beverages kept chilled. An Rv-camper with a generator in case there are no power hook-ups available. There may be cabins for rent and lodging in the area. There are a couple hiking trails more than 20 miles long. Several small trails to choose from also. Wear boots or sneakers with good cushion soles for any trail hiking. Have a canteen with cold water to drink along the way on your hiking adventure. Can go backpacking and set up a temporary over night camp and continue your hike the next day. Would be a good idea to plan your trail hiking days. Mountain bike riding, ATV, horseback riding, and walking and jogging are popular activities. There may not be cell phone connection available in some areas. Set of walkie talkies would be a good substitute for groups of campers. Have a camera to take awesome photos of the scenery to look at later. Insect repellent for those nasty mosquitoes, Campfires smoke helps keep flying insects away from your campsite. Have a first aid kit in case needed. Have a canoe or kayak to paddle around and look at the scenery and enjoy the day. Wear a life jacket for safety purposes. water ski and wind sailing are popular activities. Scuba diving and snorkeling are lots of fun. Boating on a river has strong currents and rapids that can tip over a boat. Bring your fishing poles as there are many species of fish to be caught. Can fish from a boat or from along the shore. The lake is home to 12 species of fish, white bass, striped bass, large mouth bass, bluegill, White crappie, black crappie, bigmouth buffalo fish, channel catfish, flathead catfish, green sunfish, redear sunfish, and tilapia. Take your catch back to your campsite to have a cookout over the campfire or grill for dinner. Wash your dishes in a couple containers, one with soapy water and the other with rinse water. Washing your dishes cuts the smell of food and you have clean dishes. There are many species of animals in the area that can smell food from a distance and come to your camp hungry. Try not to leave food out while away from your campsite and at night when people are sleeping. Storing food in your vehicle helps keep your food safe from animals. Lay out on the beach and get a suntan on hot summer days and then take a dip in the water to cool off. Take a swim at night and the water feels warmer. Have an innertube or raft to play around in the water or just relax. Can float downstream on a rivers current and enjoy the day. Children can build sand castles and other forms and bring a shovel and bucket. There are many activities you can play corn hole, ring toss, and horseshoes. Can play board games or cards. Throw around a football or frisbee. Play catch with a ball and glove. There are playgrounds for the kids and water parks to play at. They can play laser tag and hide and seek at night. Have a telescope to look at the stars and constellations. Skip stones on the lake or river. Can have a picnic on a blanket or at the picnic table. Take long walks on paths or trails and look at the scenery. Lay on a hammock to relax and enjoy the day. Groups of people can play volleyball or soccer. Prepare an assoertment of easy to eat foods that don’t require much utencil use. Salads, sandwiches, fruits, and finger foods are a great options. Don’t forget to pack sopme drinks and refreshing water. Don’t forget to have sunscreen, hats, galasses, and sunglasses to protect yourself from the suns rays Pet Policy- Dogs are allowed at Lake Pleasant Rv Park. Must be on a leash no longer than 6 feet. They must be kept on a leash outside your car. Must be under control at all times. Have a garbage bag to dispose of waste. These are some of the activities you can have at the park and there is more.
