Thompsons Lake State Park Campground

I’m Jeff and this is my camping site. Locate a place to set up a camp and pitch a tent. Could be log cabins and other lodging in the area. Can rent or bring an rv, camper and bring a power generator for the campsite for power usage. Build a campfire and bring a cooler with food and beverages. Review things you’re brining with you before leaving to go camping.                                                                                                                     At Thompsons Lake State Park, there are many hiking trails to choose from. Wear cushion sneakers or boots. Have a canteen with you for long hikes and cold water. Bicycles and jogging are popular also. Cell phone connection may not be available in some locations. The park covers 3000 acres and stretches over 20 miles.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 Many locations to choose from to have a picnic. Many picnic tables scattered around the park. Go for long walks in the woods. Play any board game or play cards. Corn hole, ring toss and horseshoes are popular games. Playground for the kids at most parks. Play catch with a ball and glove. Throw around a frisbee or football. Could go scuba diving or snorkeling. Take a dip in the water on a hot summer day. Swimming at night in the water feels warmer. At night kids can play laser tag. Bring a telescope to look at the stars or constellations.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    Bring your fishing pole as there are many kinds of fish to be caught. Streams in the area and a lake. Go fishing on a boat or on land. After fishing bring fish, you caught back to camp and cook on an open fire or on a grill for dinner.                                                                                                               Wash dishes in a container with soapy water and a second container with rinsing water. Many animals in the woods and can smell food from a distance. While away from camp don’t leave food out or at night while people are sleeping. Can go tubing on a river and rafting is lots of fun. Any lake that allows motorboats, someone could go water skiing and that is a blast.                                                                                                                Dogs are allowed and must be kept on a leash at all times.
