There are lots of streams, rivers and valleys in the area. Review your things you bring with you, so you don’t forget anything. Located in a 1,500-acre area. Find a place to choose for your campsite. Set up your tent and get a bit of wood for your campfire. Have a cooler for food and beverages. The park has a sandy beach and a perfect place to get a suntan. Take a dip in the water on a hot summer day to cool off. The water at night feels warm to swim in. Hiking in the area can be an adventurous thing. Go for long or short hikes and just walking around the immediate area. A canteen with cold water to drink on long hikes. Cell phone connection may not be available in some areas. Have good sneakers or boots for hiking anywhere. Have mosquito repellent while camping is a good idea. There are many activities you can be doing for fun. Corn hole, ring toss, and horseshoes are popular games. Playing a board game and cards. Throw around a frisbee, or ball with a glove. Can play Volleyball, softball, and baseball. Playground for kids are at parks. Kids can play laser tag at night. Hide and seek and tag games. Have a telescope on clear nights can view the stars and constellations. At night I have lanterns and flashlights I bring to walk around. The campfire emits enough light to see a little way. At General Clinton State Park, you can go canoeing, kayaking, or boating. Can go tubing and rafting. The lake has deep water and wear a life jacket. Snorkeling and scuba diving are lots of fun. Rivers have strong currents and rapids. Has a canoe regatta in May every year. Other events throughout the summer. Bring your fishing poles and there are many kinds of fish to be caught. Can fish from a boat or on the shore. Then cook your fish if you catch any at the campfire or grill. A good idea to wash your dishes in a container with soapy water and another container with rinse water. There are many kinds of animals in the area, and you don’t want them wandering into your camp. Animals can smell food a long way away. While away from your camp would be a good idea to not leave food out or while people are sleeping at night. These are some of the things you can do while camping.
