Make sure you review things you want bring to be sure you don’t forget anything. Find a camping location and pitch your tent. Have a cooler with food and beverages. Has 4 well equiped areas for rv-campers. There are power hook ups at the park. Good idea to bring a generator with you for camping anywhere. There are 46 plus campsites at the park. Several historic cabins can be rented from 2-6 people. There may be lodging in the area.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    At Caddo Lake State Park there are 26810 acres of Caddo lake and cypress swamp. You can go hiking and there are trails to choose from. Rangers do lead programs of nature and history of the park and surrounding area. Be sure you have good sneakers or boots for hiking anywhere. Jogging and bicycling are popular activities on trails. Cell phone connection may not be available in some areas. A set of walkie talkies would be a good replacement. A camera would be good for some awesome photos to look at later.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                               Someone can rent or bring a canoe and there are more than 50 miles of paddling trails in the Caddo lake area. There are alligators at the park, and you should read about the alligator’s safety tips before you leave. Take a boat tour and schedules depend on the weather. There is a boat ramp and a fishing pier at the park. A good idea to bring insect repellent with you as mosquitos may be plentiful. Smoke from a campfire does keep flying insects away. Have a lantern for walking around at night to see pretty good.                                                                                                Bring your fishing poles as there are more than 70 species of fish at the park. You do not need a license to fish from land. After fishing, return to camp and if you catch anything you can cook the fish over a campfire or grill for dinner. A good idea to wash your dishes in a couple containers. One with soapy water to wash and the other for rinsing. Try not to leave food out while away from your camp and when people are sleeping at night. There are animals in the area and can smell food from a distance.                                                       Go for long walks through the woods or on paths. Have a picnic as there are picnic tables at the park. Lay out and get a sun-tan and enjoy the day. Can play board games or play cards. Corn hole, ring toss, and horseshoes are popular games. Throw a frisbee or football around. Play catch with a ball and glove. There are playgrounds at parks for the kids. At night kids can play laser tag. Hide and seek or play tag.
