Wildcat Creek Campground
UncategorizedGreetings, my name is Jeff, and this is my campsite. I like the outdoors and to camp. 28 Wildcat Beach Road Murray, KY 42071 (270) 436-5628 Looks like a nice place to take a vacation. Review things before leaving to go camping. Look for a place to set up your campsite. Build a campfire and pitch a tent. A cooler with food and beverages to be kept cold. A rv-camper can be rented or brought to the site. A generator can be a good idea to have for a camper if there is no power hook up. There are 3 cabins for rent and lodging in the area. The park is located at the Daniel Boone National Forest. A heavily wooded area with streams and small hills. There are a few trails you can choose from in the area. Wear good boots or sneakers while hiking. Jogging, mountain bike and bicycling are popular activities. Cell phone connection may not be available in some areas. A set of walkie talkies are a good substitute. A camera to bring along to take some awesome photos to look at later. There are mosquitos and insects, and bug repellent may be a good idea to bring.
At wildcat Creek you can bring a canoe, kayak, and there are strong currents on a river that can tip over a boat. wear a life jacket would be a good idea. Go tubing or rafting down a river. Scuba diving and snorkeling are fun activities. Water skiing and wind sailing are a blast. Bring your fishing poles as there are many species of fish to be caught. You can fish from a boat or from along the shore. Take fish you catch back to camp and cook over the campfire or grill for dinner. Wash your dishes in two containers, one with soapy water and the other for rinse. There are a lot of animals in the area, and they can smell food from a distance. Try not to leave food out while away from camp and at night while people are sleeping. Lay on the beach and get a suntan and then take a dip in the water on hot summer days. At night the water is warmer to take a swim. There are a lot of activities that you can play board games, cards, corn hole, ring toss and horseshoes. Throw around a football or frisbee. Play catch with a ball and glove. A group of people can play volleyball and softball. There are playgrounds at the park for kids. At night they can play laser tag and hide and seek. A telescope so that you can look at the stars and constellations. Skip rocks in the water. Take long walks in the woods on paths and trails. Have a picnic and there are picnic tables at the park. Pets- 2 dogs per campsite, dogs must be restrained at all times and not left out unattended. You must pick up after your pet. Any questions please call (270) 436-5628.
