Cumberland Falls KY Camping
UncategorizedGreetings! My name is Jeff, and this is my camping site. I like the outdoors and like to camp at new locations. https://mycampingvacationsites.com 7351 Highway 90 Corbin, KY 40701 (606) 528-4121 A nice place to take a vacation. Review things before you leave to be sure you have everything for your camping adventure. Find a place to set up your campsite. Build a campfire and pitch your tent. The park has 50 campsites with electric and water. Several species of bird can be viewed from the Riverview Restraunt and back patio of the Dupont Lodge. Have a cooler with food and drinks kept chilled. A rv or camper with a generator to have power in case there are no hook ups. Dupont lodge is one of the most beautiful state park lodges and has 51 rooms. Cumberland Falls is a hiker’s paradise with 17 miles of trails that wind through the park to scenic areas. There are several backpacking trails in the area. The park is in the Daniel Boone National Forest. Have good sneakers or boots with cushioned soles for hiking. Jogging and bike riding are popular activities for paths and trails. A canoe, kayak, or boat on a river for lots of fun. A river has swift strong currents and rapids that can tip your boat over. Wear a life jacket for everyone’s safety. Go tubing or rafting down the river. Scuba diving and snorkeling are lots of fun. Water skiing and surf sailing are a blast. Bring your fishing poles as there are several species of fish to be caught. Take fish back to camp to cook on the campfire or grill for dinner. Wash dishes in two containers, one with soapy water and the other with rinse water. Several animals at the park and can smell food from a distance. Try not to leave food out while away from the camp or at night while people are sleeping.
The park has a large water fall that’s a must to see. While traveling through the park. Have a picnic and there are picnic tables at the park. Take long walks in the woods on paths and on trails for sight see. Cell phone connection may not be available in some areas. A camera to bring along for some awesome photos to look at later. Bug spray repellent would be a good idea to bring along on this trip. Lay on the beach and get a suntan on hot summer days and take a dip in the water to cool off. There is also a pool at the lodge. There are many activities you can do on a vacation. Play corn hole, ring toss, and horseshoes are popular games. Throw a football or frisbee around. Play catch with a ball and glove. With several people you can play volleyball and softball. There is a playground at the park for kids. At night they can play laser tag and hide and seek. A telescope to view the stars and constellations. Leashed pets are allowed at the park and not on trails. Allows two dogs of any size and there is a pet fee. Thank you, Jeff, for sharing your camping site and tips for a great camping adventure. I love the outdoors too, and your site seems like a perfect place to take a vacation. Your suggestions on what to bring and activities to do are very helpful. I have a question, though. You mentioned that there are several species of animals at the park that can smell food from a distance. How do you suggest campers store their food to avoid attracting animals and keep everyone safe?
Hello! Storing food in a car or truck I think would be the best way to keep the food secure and people safe from animals.
