Kentucky River Campground
UncategorizedGreeting! I’m Jeff and this is my camping site. I like the outdoors and have camped for many years. https://mycampingvacationsites.com 1489 Steele Branch Rd. Frankfort, KY 40601 (502) 382-4497 A nice place to take a vacation. Review things you bring before you leave to go camping. Locate a place to set up your campsite. Build a campfire and pitch a tent. Have a cooler with food and beverages to keep cold. Rent or bring your own rv-camper and a generator to have power if there are not any hook up for electric use. There may be log cabins available and lodging. The Kentucky Palisade trail takes 1 hour and 48 minutes to complete. There may be a few trails at the park as the palisade is the most popular. Mountain bike, jogging, and bike riding on paths and trails is fun. There may not be cell phone connection in some areas where you camp. Walkies talkies are a good substitute. A camera for awesome photos to look at later.
Rent or bring your canoes, kayaks, and boats. There are strong currents and rapids that can tip over a boat. Wear a life jacket is suggested. Go tubing or rafting down the river. Water skiing and surf sailing are a blast. Scuba diving and snorkeling are a blast. Bring your fishing poles and there are many species of fish in the river. Fish from a boat or along the shore. Take your catch back to camp and cook on the campfire or grill for dinner. Wash your dishes in two containers. One with soapy water and the other with rinse water. There are many animals in the park and can smell food left over on plates and a good idea to wash dishes and put away garbage correctly. Try not to leave food out while away from the camp and at night when people are sleeping. Lay out in the sun and get a tan and take a dip in the water on hot summer days. At night the water feels warmer to swim in than the daytime. Lay on a hammock and read a book and relax. Play board games or play cards. Corn hole, ring toss, and horseshoes are popular games. Throw a Frisbee or football around. Play catch with a ball and glove. There are playgrounds at a park for kids. At night the kids can play laser tag and hide-and-seek. Look at the stars with a telescope and constellations. Skip rocks in the river or in a lake.
Take a walk in the woods on a path or a trail. Go on a picnic as there are picnic tables at the park. Groups of people can play volleyball, basketball, and softball. Mosquitoes and bug repellent art a good idea in the woods. A campfires smoke keeps flying insects away from the camp. Take a lantern with you for long strolls at night. A campfire emits plenty of light in the campsite. All pets are required to be on a leash and not left unattended. Please clean up after your pet. Animals are allowed in the office as long as they’re under watchful eye of their owner. Jeff http://my-camping-sites.com
