Falls of Rough KY 40119 (270) 879-4304 A nice place to take a vacation. Look for a place for your campsite. Build a campfire and pitch a tent. A cooler with food and beverages to be kept cold. There are 62 campsites at the park. A rv-camper with a generator for power if there are no hooks ups for electricity. There are cabins in the area and lodging. At Cave Creek Campground there are 3 trails and several small, short trails at the park. Jogging, mountain bike, and bicycling are popular activities. Wear good sneakers or boots that are well cushioned for hiking anywhere. Have a canteen with you to drink cold water on trails. Cell phone connection may not be available in some areas. A set of walkie-talkies would be a good substitute.  Enjoy your stay by canoeing, kayaking, and boating on a river or lake. There are strong currents and rapids, your boat can tip over. Wearing a life jacket is a good idea on any deep-water areas. There are mosquitoes and lots of other insects and would be a good idea to have bug repellent. Smoke from a campfire helps keep flying insects away. Have a camera to take awesome photos to look at later. Lay out and get a suntan and take a dip in the water on hot summer days to cool off. Swim at night and the water feels warmer. Tubing and rafting along with currents down a river is a lot of fun. Water skiing and wind sailing are a blast. Scuba diving and snorkeling can be lots of fun. Bring your fishing poles as there are several species of fish at the park. A 5,100-acre lake and can fish from a boat or along the shore. Take your catch back to the camp and cook over the campfire or grill for dinner. Wash your dishes in two containers, one with soapy water and the other with rinse water. There are many kinds of animals in the area and can smell food from a distance. Try to keep food put away while away from the camp or at night when people are sleeping.
Can take long walks in the woods on a path or trail. Lay on a hammock relax and read a book. Play board games or play cards. Corn hole, ring toss, and horseshoes are popular games. Throw a Frisbee or football around. Play catch with a ball and glove. A group of people can play volleyball, soccer or softball. There are playgrounds at most parks for kids to play on. At night kids can play laser tag and hide-and-seek. A telescope to look at the stars and constellations. Skipping stones in a river or lake to see how far you can skip a stone.
