Camping Finger Lakes
UncategorizedHi, I’m Jeff and this is my camping site. I like the outdoors and to camp at new locations. https://mycampingvacationsites.com The Finger lakes area at central New York State is a nice area for people to take a vacation. Camping would be a good idea while in the area. Lots of fields and small hills in the area. Many grape vineyards and places for wine tasting is offered. Large lakes, rivers, streams and valleys. Look at an area on a map and choose a place that you would be allowed to camp. Maybe call for reservations ahead of time. State Parks in the area would be easier for pitching a tent. Canoeing or boating on these large lakes can be fun. Wear a life jacket is suggested while boating. Currents or rapids on a river can tip a boat. You like to fish this is a real good opportunity. I have been at Keuka and Seneca lakes in the past and has been a lot of fun. Trout, Bass and Salmon are among fish you can catch. Someone could rent or bring their camper to many locations. Set up a grill for meals is a good idea. Bring a cooler for drinks and keeping food cool. Camp fire keeps flying insects away and getting bug spray would be a good idea to have on hand. Bring a lantern or flashlights for nighttime use. Some parks have waterfalls, and the scenery is very good. Hiking could be lots of fun. Would be good to have a group of people or someone to be with. A camera for site seeing is always a good idea to have. Watkins Glen State Park has 19 water falls within 2 miles and lots of places to walk and sight see. Hot summer days you can jump in for a swim. There’s a wide variety of animals in the region. Be always aware of your surroundings. Cell phone connection might not be available at some areas. Lots of State Parks to choose from for someone’s camping adventure at the Finger Lakes. Lots of activities in the area as well. Can also rent cabins in the area. Feel free to leave a message. Click on my site at the bottom. Always enjoy your camping adventure. Jeff http://my-camping-sites.com

I like this post on Finger Lakes. I have never been there and now that I think about it, I have never been to New York.
I have a few questions… are there any wild animals there that I should be aware of? I am pretty versed with nature but I just want to know. Also, what kind of fish are in the river? I like to fish as well.
Hello! The Finger Lakes area is really a nice area and I have been there a few times. There lots of farming flat land for miles and lots of trees. I got lost once going to Canandaigua that’s near the Finger Lakes. There are grape vineyards in that area as they make wine and sometimes have wine tasting that people try. I’d have in mind to be aware of bears. I haven’t seen any there, but NY state has bears throughout the state. If you ever see any bear cubs don’t go near them as the mother isn’t usually that far away and get very protective of their cubs and could attack. Ny state has rattlesnakes and water snakes, but it’s the usual thing. I seldom see any rattlesnakes but it’s good to know about them. There’s usually trout, bass, catfish, and a few other fish species. Also, a good idea to look into getting a fishing license for whatever state you want to fish at as you could ask at a park or call ahead about that. Maybe even look it up online about where to get that at what location you want to fish at.
This article provides great insight into camping in the Finger Lakes area of central New York State. The author shares his personal experience and provides useful tips for anyone planning a camping trip in the region. I appreciate the author’s recommendation to wear a life jacket while boating and to be aware of surroundings as there may be wildlife in the area. The mention of Watkins Glen State Park and its 19 waterfalls within 2 miles caught my attention. I wonder if there are any other parks in the area that offer similar breathtaking views?
Hello! Watkins Glenn State Park N.Y. has waterfalls and would be an ideal place to take a vacation. The Ithaca area near Watkins Glenn has waterfalls in the area. The finger lakes region has lots of scenery and is grape Vinyard country. I got lost traveling in that area once and miles of fields and is a flat area with woods also. They have wine tasting and lake Keuka I have been at a few times or any of the finger lakes would be good place to take a vacation.
I love spending time in nature. Camping is the best way to discover parks and enjoy nature but I have never been camping. I like your pictures, the waterfall is magical. I hope to see more items that will make me wanna discover the camping world, and gadget that will help making the whole camping experience safe and convinient.
Thanks
Thats actually a real nice area. I used to visit some people who live in that area a while ago. Went to a couple concerts in there before. I had not been there in like ten years and last summer went to see some friends and went to another concert there. Thats a nice area. But it is very flat, and the finger lakes are a nice sight, has large lakes, grape vineyards and fields. To camp there would be lots of fun.
Hey thank you for this post!
This was an interesting read for me since I would like to some time camp with family and friends, plus I haven’t heard of this camp site in new York! It does seem like a great site judging by your description, definitely worth a visit!
Thanks again and have a great day!
Hi Jef,
The finger lakes seem to be a great place to go camping with families and friends. I would love to try this area, but I am unsure if it’s safe to stay at night due to the wildlife there. Are there any signs or protected areas that keep everyone safe?
I don’t want to wake up and see a giant bear in front of me:) It would be like a nightmare.
Thanks a lot!
most campsites are safe to stay at. I would call any if I was concerned.
