Greetings! I’m Jeff and this is my camping site. I like the outdoors and camping at different locations. https://mycampingvacationsites.com 5465 State Park Rd. Jamestown KY 42629 (270) 343-3111 A nice place to take a vacation. Review things you’re wanting to bring so you don’t forget anything. Look for a place to set up a campsite. Build a campfire and pitch a tent. A cooler for food and beverages to be kept cold. A RV-Camper with a generator in case there are not any hook ups available. There are cottages and lodging in the area. At Lake Cumberland State Park there are hiking trails. Bring good, cushioned boots for this hike. Long hikes someone can bring a backpack for a temporary overnight camp and continue the next day to you destination. A canteen brought is a good idea to have cold water to drink. Mountain bike riding and jogging are popular activities. May not have cell phone connection in some areas. A set of walkie-talkies is a good substitute. Plenty of sight see and have a camera to take awesome photos to look at later. Insect repellent as mosquitoes and other bugs are a pest. A campfires smoke helps keep flying insects away from you camp. Lay out and get a suntan on hot summer days and then take a dip in the water to cool off. The water feels warmer to swim in at night. A canoe, kayak is good on a river or lake and can paddle around to where you want. Wear a life jacket as there are strong currents and rapids on a river that can tip over the boat. Can go scuba diving and snorkeling. Water ski and wind surfing are very popular. Go inner tubing, rafting and ride the current downstream and enjoy the day. Bring your fishing poles as there are many species of fish to be caught. Fish from a boat or from along the shore. Take any fish you catch back to camp and have a cookout over the campfire or grill for dinner. Wash you dishes in a couple containers, one with soapy water and the other with rinse water. There are many animals in the area and can smell food from a distance and can be drawn to the camp. Try not to leave food out while away from the camp and at night when people are sleeping. Take long walks through the woods on paths or trails. Have a picnic and there are many picnic tables at the park. There are lots of activities at the park. Corn hole, ring toss, and horseshoes are popular activities. Play board games and cards. Throw around a football or frisbee. Play catch with a ball and glove. Groups of people can play volleyball and softball. There are playgrounds at the park for the kids. At night they can play laser tag and hide and seek. Can look at the stars and constellations with a telescope. Pet policy- allows two dogs of any size for an additional fee of $30 per stay in lodge rooms, and $50 per stay in cottages. Dogs may be left in rooms unattended, and the hotel has grassy areas for relief. Sorry, cats are not accepted. These are some of the activities at the park and there’s much more.
