;;Lake Havasu State Park AZ camping
UncategorizedGreetings? I’m Jeff and this is my camping site. I like the outdoors and to camp at different locations. jeff@mycvampingvacationsites.com 699 London Bridge Rd. Lake Havasu City, AZ 86403 (928) 855-2784 A nice place to take a vacation away from the usual everyday things. Review things to bring along so you don’t forget anything. Look for a location to set up your campsite. Build a campfire and pitch your tent. A cooler with food and beverages kept cold. RV- Camper with a generator in case there are no power hook-ups available. Has 54 campsites and 13 beachside cabins and there is lodging in the area. There are several hiking trails from 3 to more than 6 miles long. Wear hiking boots with good cushion soles for long and short trail hiking. Canteen with cold water on hikes is a good idea. Jogging, walking, and Mountain bike riding are popular activities on a trail.
There may not be cell phone connection available in some areas. Set of walkie talkies is a good substitute for to talk to people in your group while hiking or anywhere. Have a camera to take photos of the awesome scenery to look at later. Insect repellent for those nasty mosquitoes. The smoke from a campfire helps keep flying insects away from your camp. Lay out on the beach and get a suntan on hot summer days and then take a dip in the water to cool off. Swim at night and the water feels warmer. Water ski and wind sailing are popular activities. Scuba diving and snorkeling can be lots of fun. Float around on an innertube or a raft. Bring your fishing poles as there are many species of fish to be caught. Can fish from a boat or from along the shore. Bring your catch back to the campsite and cook over the campfire or grill for dinner. Wash your dishes as there are many animals in the area that can smell food from a distance and come to your camp. Wash in 2 containers, one with soapy water and the other with rinse water. Try not to leave food out while away from the camp or at night when people are sleeping. There are playgrounds at the park for the kids to play on. At night they can play laser tag and hide and seek. Have a telescope and can look at the stars and constellations. Skip stones on a river or on a lake. There are many activities to have such as corn hole, ring toss, and horseshoes. Play board games or play cards. Throw around a football or a frisbee. Play catch with a ball and glove. Groups of people can play volleyball. Lay on a hammock to relax and read a book. Pet policy- Pets are allowed and must be attended to at all times and kept on a leash no longer than six feet. Please clean up after your pet. Pets are not allowed on the sandy white beaches or inside cabins. These are some of the activities at the park and there is much more. Hi Jeff,
Thank you for this fantastic article; I found it very helpful.
My husband and I are looking for a great camping spot to spend our vacations with some friends. We love to fish, so that’s already a good thing. Just a few questions, please. Does Lake Havasu State Park require a fishing license, or can anyone fish there? Also, do you know what type of fish there are in the lake? I suppose we need to bring our own boat or are there fishing boat excursions? Sorry for all these questions, but I need to plan this trip well so that we can enjoy at the maximum:)
Thanks a lot!
Hello! Yes, you need a fishing license-10 years and older required. There are large, small, striped bass, catfish, panfish, trout, bluegill, sunfish. You can call Parker and Needles who rent boats from Havasu City at 1-800-393-5558. There are several boat rental places there and other excursion rentals. Yes, it is smart to plan ahead for a vacation.
Hi Jeff,
This looks a very calming and beautiful place to visit for anyone who loves camping. A great place to take younger children, and for anyone that is passionate about fishing and can cook their catch later that evening, what a great way to spend a holiday! I also like the idea that there isn’t any Internet connection. sometimes it’s nice to get away without our phones bleeping, texting, emails, coming through and having a walkie-talkie instead to communicate, whilst on your travels, seems a great idea. We can still take cameras without them being attached to our phones.
The scenery looks beautiful too and having a pet friendly place to stay will be welcomed by many. I’m sure.
Hello! Thanks for your reply. I have been wanting to take a vacation to Lake Havasu for a little while myself. This is one of my favorite places I have been thinking about to visit sometime. I like the red wood forest that I have been wanting to visit also for a camping adventure. There is a Havasu Falls that looks interesting also.
Hello! I’ve been researching to camp at Lake Havasu for a summer visit and came across your site. I appreciate all the info provided in the blog post, which will save me time doing any further research. I had no idea that you can scuba dive as an activity?! Sounds like you’re very familiar with the area and amenities. I’m sure I’ll be back to here to ask questions. Till then, Thanks!
I found the section on recreational activities to be engaging and informative. The article covers a wide range of activities, including hiking, boating, fishing, and wildlife viewing, giving readers a sense of the many opportunities for outdoor adventure and exploration in the park. The mention of nearby attractions and points of interest, such as the London Bridge, adds to the appeal of the area.

The detailed information, along with the beautiful imagery, helps create a vivid picture of what the park has to offer. Whether readers are experienced campers or first-timers, this article provides a great starting point for planning an enjoyable and memorable camping vacation at Lake Havasu State Park. Thank you for this amazing article. I will definitely share this.
Thank you, Jeff. You got a good list of essential items for camping. I like how you emphasized wearing hiking shoes with good cushions and the need to clean dishes. Many times we forget some safety precautions out of excitement. Taking along soap, a sponge and a little jar of water for cleaning can save one from embarrassment from animals. So also, wearing correct protective outfits. They will keep one safe from harsh weather conditions.
Hi Jeff, the park looks idyllic and the variety of amenities for children is so appealing. I don’t have much experience camping except for the regular 1-day hiking trails that do not really entail the full camping experience as you are sharing about. I am interested though in doing a real camp trip going off-grid for a few days up to a week, just to get the full experience of being able to do life for some time without the normal conveniences we are so accustomed to. Do you perhaps have camping tips for a beginner like me on just how to best prepare for such an adventure, specifically the basics on what to know or understand before embarking on a camping trip?
I am also interested in solar generated appliances for camping. Again, I am not knowledgeable about it, but am trying to get some insight whether solar appliances for a camping trip may be better than the generator?
Hello! I thought a solar generator would be good for camping. You would not need any gas. Sunlight to power up the generator Id imagine would be a lot more convenient than having to put fuel in to turn on the generator. Might have to replace a solar panel once in a while but I think that would be the way to go about that. You would not need to buy fuel. AS far as camping tips I’d review important things I need for camping. Like having the tent or tents for how many are going camping. If going camping people don’t need lots of things but I’d be sure to have food for a cooler and some sort of cold pack that stays cold for several days to keep food and beverages chilled.. Plenty of bottled water or drinks. Extra clothing for how many days someone would be camping. Making a list and being sure you have everything you want to bring.
