Black Canyon AZ Camping Vacation
UncategorizedGreetings! I’m Jeff and this is my camping site. I like the outdoors and to camp at new locations. https://mycampingvacationsites.com 196 E. St. Josephs Rd. Black Canyon City, AZ 85324 (623) 374-5318 Looking for a place to take a vacation away from your everyday things. Then you may have just found the place you were wanting to have fun at. Review things to bring along with you so you don’t forget anything. Locate a place to set up your campsite. Build a campfire and pitch your tent on a flat spot, have a cooler with food and beverages kept cold. An RV-camper with a generator in case there are no power hook-ups available. Maybe rent a cabin and there may be lodging in the area. Black Canyon trail is 80 miles of beautiful Sonoran Desert that can be enjoyed on a mountain bike, hiking or trail running, and horseback riding. It is one of the top off-road experiences you will find not only in Arizona but nationwide. The trail stretches from the Carefree Highway near Phoenix, AZ to the Prescott National Forest near Prescott AZ. Travels along the Bradshaw Mountains and near interstate 17. Which gives beautiful landscape while affording easy access at various spots along the trail. Wear boots or sneakers with good, cushioned soles for any trail hiking. Have a canteen with cold water to drink along the way on this adventure. Can go backpacking and set up a temporary camp and continue your trail hiking the next day. Plan your backpacking experience ahead of time so you can enjoy your time there. There may not be cell phone connection available in some areas. Set of walkie talkies would be a good substitute for groups of hikers. Have a camera to take awesome photos along the way to look at later. Insect repellent for those nasty mosquitoes. Campfires smoke helps keep flying insects away from your campsite. Have a first aid kit in case ever needed. Have a canoe or kayak to paddle around and look at the scenery and enjoy your day. Wear a life jacket for safety purposes. Water ski and wind sailing are popular activities. Scuba diving and snorkeling are lots of fun. Boating on a river has strong currents and rapids that can tip your boat over. Bring your fishing poles as there are many species of fish to be caught. Can fish from a boat or from along the shore. There are largemouth bass, catfish, crappie, northern pike, smallmouth bass, striped bass, walleye, bream/bluegill, and brown trout. Take your catch back to the campsite and have a cookout over the campfire or grill for dinner. Was h your dishes in a couple containers, one with soapy water and the other with rinse water. Washing the dishes cuts the smell of food and you have clean dishes. There are many species of animals that can smell your food from a distance and come to your camp hungry. Try not to leave food out while away from the campsite or at night when people are sleeping. Lay out on the beach and get a suntan on a hot summer day and then take a dip in the water to cool off. Have an innertube or raft to play out in the water or to just relax. Can also float downstream on a river with the current and look at the scenery and enjoy the day. There are many activities such as corn hole, ring toss, and horseshoes. Play a board game or cards. Throw around a football or frisbee. Play catch with a ball and glove. Can maybe play miniature golf if there is available. There are playgrounds at the park and the kids can play laser tag and hide and seek at night. Have a telescope to look at the stars and constellations. Can skip stones on a lake or river for fun. Have a picnic on a blanket or at the picnic table. Take long walks on paths or trails and look at the scenery. Lay on a hammock to relax and maybe read a book. Groups of campers can play volleyball or soccer. Pet Policy- In Black Canyon of Gunnison Park, pets on a leash may be walked on roads in campgrounds, to the overlooks, and are allowed on the Cedar Point Nature Trail. North Rim Chasm View Nature Trail, and Rim Rock Trail. Pets are not allowed on any other hiking trails, cross-country ski trails, or inner canyon wilderness. Pets should be on a leash no longer than 6 feet. Please clean up after your pet. These are some of the activities you can have at the park and there is more. Thanks for your helpful article. Black Canyon AZ Camping Vacation is a fantastic because you can focus on yourself and be away from Cellphones or social media. I have some questions about the topic.
what are some recommended locations for scuba diving and snorkelling in the area?
Are there any local wildlife-watching opportunities in the area?
Hello! Thanks for responding. The lake there would be real good scuba diving or most any other lakes. I have also scuba dive in rivers before and that’s fun. Be amazed how deep rivers can get at some places. The ocean I have scuba dive a couple times and is always recommended as long as you have an experienced diver with you about sharks and other predators of the ocean but is lots of fun. There is bird watching and other species of animals in that area. Always be cautious of bears and maybe bobcats. Some cat species get pretty big like puma’s and similar cat species also.
